Thought about applying wax paper to the bottom of my hull

Well I tried to re-use my Cheese-puff's fuselage on the snow, it was failure, just nose overs it wouldn't go anywhere... due to the friction problem... so I thought hey, snowboards use wax, wax doesn't let water adhere therefore it slides smooth so why not use it for snow plane use?

Anybody try this?

Clear packing tape is probably more durable than wax paper I glass the bottom of my planes with WBPU and 1/2 oz glass cloth but tape works well to.

See... I tried tape... I use this fiberglass reinforced tape and it sadly did not work.

Just an idea I never tried..steal some of the family's 'PAM' cooking spray and apply it to the bottom and chine area.
Skiers use a variety of wax products as dictated by snow conditions.
My best winter bird was a 56" Pietenpol with oversized Trexlers.

I seriously doubt that friction is your problem here. My guess is that it's related to the thrust angle of the motor. Also if you don't allow the hull to cool down before placing it on the snow you might get some sticking.
To test the friction theory instead of wax paper I would suggest applying a wax. I used an auto wax on the bottom of my Champ converted seaplane so it would take off from the floor at our indoor flying session. It seemed to help. You could also try a glide wax made for skis.

The thrust angle comment is a definite area of concern

I'll try it out and see what I come up with.
