I just stopped-by to check out this thread. So sorry about your loss. That's very devastating.
I was worried about that "weak spot" during my build. With numerous flights, and under stress, wing fold could possibly happen during flight. So during my build, I re-inforced my wings on top surface, besides the flat CF at the bottom surface. That pylon joint weakens the structural strength of the main wings, and extra re-inforcement to me was necessary, due to wind conditions where I usually - top of the hill.

I'm sure you'll miss that baby, hope you get your next one done soon...

I do run stock hinges but keep in mind my 737s are covered in Oracal 751 2mil adhesive film, and I carefully overlap at the hinge points with the film. If I lose an aileron (or similar), I've got bigger problems because it means all of the 2mil film peeled off the wing.

1st off, Pulsery also want to wish you the best recovery from your wing incident.. As all here expressed already, sorry to see of it.. Hope you are not too dismayed..
Well, I know to many maybe old news, but being that my 737 just showed up, I am thinking enthusiasm is as high as when you all got yours all so long ago.. Learned a bit from this thread .But will need to fondle it abit to see which direction to go..!! I hope I can ask questions freely from all you "big guys " out there..!! Thanks..!!

I'm positive this group of great guys will welcome any questions you may have.

For you guys who've worked with vinyl, what would you think is the best way to cover the Fuse. Wrapping the tube may require an additional helping hand or cutting out rectangular pieces and covering in sectional panels?

Got the engines hung yesterday and now comes my very big headache. Covering that humongous Fuselage

I covered my fuse with about 8-10 rectangular pieces.
Of coarse start from the back and move forward.
The fuse came out nice and was easy to do. A helping hand and a hot hairdryer will help a lot.
The bottom of the wing and the canoes AND the nose of the fuse is a bit of a challange. (In fact a pain)
Use a lot of heat and it will be fine

Be very careful with that "lot of heat"! If you get close to the EPO, it will become very bumpy (alligator skin), in no time.

You are right about NOT using a LOT of heat
My hairdryer doesn't get hot enough to melt foam
Just enough to make the vinyl plyable

Any one out there work with Scotchprint? It is supposedly like Oracal but... "better"? More elastic... A signmaker in my world recommended it after listening to what my 737 ideas were..http://www.stickercity.com
