What a blasphemous thought! Keep it so you'll have both! I'd never entertain the thought of getting rid of my Radian.

Radian Pro Autopsy

Well, if you watched Gary's Radian Family Fun video (see Post #21 of this thread), you'll see him flying along with my Radian Pro. At the 6:00 mark, you'll see we made contact. We were kinda low, and that sent me into the ground nose-first. The fuselage broke completely in half right in front of the wing. The foam was really smashed and compressed between the break and the firewall. All the components survived and I didn't even break my Graupner 10x8 prop! Anyway, I figured it would be too much work to repair it good, so I bought a new fuselage.

Since I had to remove parts (motor, servos, etc) from the busted fuse, I decided to tear into the fuse to see what was inside of it. I removed the plastic wing attachment piece that everybody claims is junk. Looks like there's no damage to it. I did find a few interesting things. They added a plastic piece along the top of the wing saddle. That's a definite improvement over the original Radian. I also extracted the fiberglass stiffeners from the fuse. There was one oriented vertically along the bottom of the fuse and then two small ones oriented horizontally in each fuse half. I also thought it was cool how the tail part of the fuse wasn't solid. The interior structure design like that saves weight and probably helps strengthen the tail.

I've attached a few pictures I snapped with my iPhone to show the parts.

The camera was a GoPro Hero HD taped to the rear part of the canopy of my Radian. We used a little piece of foam flat on one side and cut curved to the canopy shape on the other. A little blenderm tape and a little packing tape and it was secure.

I don't think I got any pictures of the thing mounted unfortunately.

Can you control the Recording on/off with the receiver? Or do you have to turn it on before your flight? Could you take a picture?! if its possible? I want to see how you mounted it!

I'm in the process of getting the DX6I are there different models of the DX6I? or are they all universal for almost any plane?

Gotta say, I thought that was a GREAT review, and I read lots of them. The vid from the "chase glider" was very impressive. I learned a lot about the aircraft from the review and found it to be at about the right "level" for me. (I guess I must be the target audience, having flown tons of PZ Warbirds and the micros and now am thinking about the Glider flying niche as the next area to explore.)

Thanks for the great work!

Great review and awesome aerial video footage.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or did I see the chase/video plane fly under the Radian Pro while it was inverted?

My brushless Easy Glider is getting tired, I think I will replace it with a Radian Pro.

Your eyes saw correctly! That RP was as upside-down as it could be.

It kinda reminded me of the scene from Top Gun where Maverick rolled inverted over the Mig...

I just watched the family fun slope video. There is more banging going on than a Nascar race. Looked like a lot of fun.
