Why Did You Choose Your LRS.....
Look. I wanna say this once...
Vendors - please stay out of here. Wait - you know what, don't stay out... subscribe - but let's leave this to customers only please. As a vendor you may learn something here - you may not. But this thread is NOT to cause any crap on here... Now - please put what LRS you use, and why. Do not BASH a vendor on here... just please put your reasons what the reasons were that you chose the LRS that you did. If you've switched please say why. I am just trying to make an educated decision based on experienced guys. This piece is the only part of the puzzle that I haven't figured out due to hours of reading on here and my own research. (yes I've been subscribed to all the pertinent threads for each LRS). We know that they ALL work - and they all work well... so with that said, what was the thing that chose you to go in 1 direction over another. I have narrowed it down to DL, EzUHF and TSLRS. The DMD is out (for me) b/c the support forums are moslty Spanish - if I need support from others I'd need it ASAP, nto after getting some1 to translate for me. No offense - but that was a deal-breaker for me although it has been proven to be AMAZING... not knocking the DMD hardware/sofware. * discuss * ----> I will get this thread locked/deleted if it gets crazy in here <---- |

There is someone who has them all and he could not get any of them working satisfactorily where he flies, I am sure he is not far away .

I am glad you made this thread, I am thinking about putting a UHF module on my JR8103 after discovering how easy it is to connect these UHF's. (PPM, + and -)
My main question is, every where I look it seems these units are out of stock. Are these being custom built in small quantities? Since 8 channels is my limit (really all I need) it would be nice to just have 8 channels instead of 12 or what ever they are on now. |

Well, Sentry I thought this thread was a good idea, too bad some can't stay away if there not here to share there experience.
DragonLink - I have only been out to a little over 2 miles, but rock solid rssi values. Pros- Price, Great Support, Plays well with DOSD+ w/ RTH Cons - Long Lead Time, But worth the wait. Of the three popular LRS available they all appear to perform about the same. Video will now become your weekness. DragonLabs and ImmersionRC both have OSD's which are simple to interface. ImmersionRC also has the additional option of the Antenna tracker. DragonLabs has the RTH feature which (IMO) is very, very nice for long range flying. Now if ImmersionRC would add the RTH to their OSD they would have the complete system. |
