The 4 cells on this power was Very Fun to fly.....The best way to describe it,if there was a class called "Pylon-Liner" it would be PERFECT.It gets up and goes fast, and holds nice speed for 4cells flying pylon style, but can also go crazy vertical and fly it like a hotliner NO problem....my second flight was over 5 minutes ....The 5cells setup, just caught myself, and my buddy by surprise (and my bud Doug has launched the plane over 30 times, and has been around to see it fly over 50 flights) as you will see in the video of the first flight,my buddy Doug speaks a lot of french ...and sorry,i do not know how to edit it out .But the one thing that i could not get over was the SOUND....THERE WAS NONE ! it is so strange to fly at these speeds, and not hear the Screaming through the trees.....Working on video now.

5s or even 6s is possible, but you have to go down on the propp...

4s is ok with 5.5x5.5
but with 5s I would say no more then 4.7x4.7, or else you will hit the sound of speed on prop tips

Good luck..

Waiting for the Video,
I can not explain how this first flight felt,it was just a RUSH !,i am so used to having the plane sound FAST,but the plane was easy to fly...Now with this setup, the plane was silent, but HAULING AZZ and a bit on the handling edge....I mean Wicked fast ...I think my buddy Doug does a great job of explaining how we felt on this re-maiden.As i said,my buddy Doug has launched, and watched the Swist since day one,and never said a word ever, today was a bit different and again, sorry for his French (Sebbe, this launch was down wind cause there was guy at the end of the runway, the second launch was done at full throttle into the wind at a 30deg angle, and was a non event, but does torque to the left a bit)
Swist F5D w/GM Folder on 5 cells (4 min 14 sec)

That looks and sounds perfect! I have no clue which speeds it's moving at but it looks fast enough, no annoying prop sound and no broken props on landing

Fantastic! I am really envious now!

Doug
What were the motor and esc temps like after the 5 cell flight?

Don't forget to post an ICE log for me please?

Thanks
Peter

PS: You're using a 16/35/1 and 5.2:1 gb aren't you?

VooDoo, tried to doppler your passes, tried 4 of them in advanced audio progs, and did all things to them like clean them up and change the pitch and so on, after 1 hour of work, SORRY, impossible to tell, got speeds all from 240km/h up to 374km/h, the curves where so bad that no reading could be done properly... I can say, doppler is a no go on geared drives like this.... I guess speedgun is the only way..

Sebbe..

But I can tell, this looks a bit faster then your 6s Swist small prop.. how much ? dont know, if you did let the prop accelerate in a bigger higher dive to get real bite in air, im sure you could reach +220mph..or even a tad more..

Good stuff..

LOL! That's one way of solving the lack of 30mm spinners that fit 5mm shafts!

Thanks loko!
