Id keep it simple to start man, direct drive inrunner, then go from there.

Light is good

Even a lil 16/25/2 on 5S with a 4.7x4.7 is fast enough to make smiles.

I FINALLY got a chance to try the DUP 7X10 Folders on my Pyro today, and nothing for nothing, they are much better then the 6X10's on the Pyro....I MEAN WOW ! I am very impressed,so much so-that this will be my weekend setup unless i am looking for Max Speed. The setup in this vid from today is,Mini-Pyro,2200mah 6S,Himodel 150 ESC,7X10 DUP Folders...It pulls like a Mac Truck (watch launch),gets NICE speed (not sure how fast, but cranking) and SOUNDS CRAZY,The folders do not make much noise at all,but the echo is AWESOME,motor and esc come down warm to the touch, and the lipos get a bit of heat, but nothing like my DD and GB sets......and the glide is NICE to stretch the flight at the end....I am diggin this setup for sure, just wish i tried it sooner Crank up the volume like you were next to me,and you will hear what i mean
Swist F5D (2 min 22 sec)

Very nice, Doug! Great flying in those light conditions!!!!

I have some news - I'm developing a new 6.25x11 and 7x10.

Both will feature:

- thinner 'foils for lower current draw (and higher RPM hopefully)
- better hub design for improved airflow and optimised opening (100% rather than 90-95%). They will also close correctly as well.
- both will be suitable up to 5KW, maybe more if you are willing to test

The idea is you can interchange them for approx the same current draw but more thrust or more pitch speed.

The moulds will be ready early in the new year.

I have no logging with this setup yet,but I do know it will shut down a YGE120,but no problem on 150,so it must be around 140amps in flight ........It just still blows my mind that I can do an all out 60 second blitz, and have enough for a couple more pulls, and land with everything warm to the touch It for sure is the perfect Sport setup.

Morning lads (its 6.56am here)..
Looking at escs for swist-if i use a separate little pack to pwr reciever do i have to get a opto esc? Or can i use a normal esc (with bec) and plug that into throttle channel port and then plug something like the "scorpion backup guard" into a spare channel port? So if esc burn't up or if the voltage drops below 5v,the "back up guard" automaticly takes over powering the reciever...
I've never used a separate lil'l pack on reciever before, thats why i'm asking-mite even sound like a dumb question to all those that use seperate reciever power
its new to me...
p.s. i use a futaba 7c 2.4 R617FS reciever/set

^ Just disconnect the red wire from the esc's throttle wire, when using an ESC with built in BEC. Pulling the pin out of the plug and taping it out of the way is the usual method.

Yip cool, cheers Chris So if i pull the red wire, the reciever runs fulltime on the lil'l batt pack aye.Is it better to do it that way,or use esc bec to pwr reciever (combined with the scorpion backup guard) and then if voltage drops below 5v or burns up the backup guard takes over?

I spose either way the out come is the same.....if esc dies i still have reciever pwr...
cher cher for your help once again cheif
