Perhaps it may be cheaper to just supply 2 pieces of sheet plastic to make the thrust tubes instead of changing the mold?

I have thrust tubes on mine and changing throttle didn't affect pitch in flight.

Cool, that's two for two. Has Ozzi got tubes, or it he running open foam?

I did think about putting two pre-cut bits of mylar in the kit. Given I would think quite a few first time EDFers would buy this kit (so cheap for a twin EDF, and easy to fly once set up), making life as easy as possible would be a good thing. If ELERC are going for a class 1, out of the box setup though, a moulded thrust tube would be the ducks guts...

Agreed, it would be one more thing the buyer wouldn't have to fiddle with.

I have no thrust tubes. I've gone commando.

LMAO No. No thrusting issues. If the weather cooperates we should be able to fly 3 in formation this weekend.

Waiting for my 800 mAh 30C packs to arrive, should be any day now. With any luck, the maiden will be this weekend.

Since you guys used thrust tubes from the beginning, I think I'll need to look into doing a deflector in the exhaust duct.

Good write-up Joe. I'm surprised it's only generating 4.4 oz. thrust at 24 amps though, sounds like a really inefficient setup.

Good luck on the maiden!

Wow. I'm getting 120 grams (4.2 ounces) at around 8 amps.

Looks like your setup is more effecient. Once everything is ready for a maiden, I will retest the amp and thrust performance on the stock setup.

You've got 8 blades in yours, right Joe? I'm pretty sure Ozzi has the 6 blade...

Ozzi has GWS 6 blade rotors. Much less load. I think the C10 motor is too small for the 8 blade rotors.

I reckon a 1 blade EDF spinning at 98200 RPM might work. What do you reckon boys?
Balance may be an issue though.
