S107 vs S107G Helicopter Problems!

I bought 4 New Syma Helicopters.
2 are Marked S107 on Box, and the other 2 are Marked S107G.

Both S107G's Charge-Up and Fly Perfectly.

BOTH S107's have the Same Problems.
If I Plug-In the Charger with the Copter Switch-OFF,
the Main Rotors ROTATE and Charger Light is OFF.
If I Plug-In the Charger with the Copter Switch-ON,
the Main Rotors Stop Rotating and the Charger Light is ON.
Battery never seems to charge.

This makes no Sense, except perhaps the 2 S107's
both have the Same Manufacturing Defect?
Anyone elce have Problems like this with their S107's?

What is the Difference between S107 & S107G?

This thing that happens is not only in the S107, in the 6020 helis this thing happens too, but i dont know why.

And about the difference, i think the are the same thing, maybe the G is to "underline" the Gyro or something similar

I got a S107 delivered last week, it says S107G on the box.

It has been fine - I'm only using the USB charger and charging from my macbookpro.

In reading some other Posts, there are Knock-Off Fakes out there.

Of my 4 New Copters,
I bought 2 Directly From a China Seller (superseller4399),
and they have the "S107R5" Circuit Board,
and Both of these Syma Copters Work Great!

My Other 2 Copters I just bought Direcly from Amazon.
Circuit Boards on Both of these Copters do NOT have the
S107R3 or S107R5 Board Part Numbers
and Both of these Copters Do Not Work At All!
Apparently they are Both Syma Fake-Copters
and will be going Back to Amazon ASAP!

Also, the 2 "Fakes" were both Yellow and Look like the
Yellow Copter that someone else Posted a Photo of.
My 2 Fakes were Packed-In a Molded Clear-Plastic Holder that Fit inside Box.

My 2 good Red Copters were packed in a Molded White Styrafoam Holder
that Fit inside the Box.

I have the R5 board on my S107. It seems that the R3 is the preferred board, and the fact that you got clones from Amazon is unfortunate

I was buying from ebay but from USA sellers only...I don't know how to verify the legitimacy of any overseas business. There's no question that 99.99% of the toy rc stuff comes from China, but if you buy from a USA seller then you usually have some recourse.

Under no circumstances should rotors rotate with switch 'off'. I have never seen or heard of this. It should not even be possible, as the battery is disconnected from the circuit and only to the charge plug when 'off'.

Syma only designates things as 'G' when there was a previous model without a gyro, like S006. There was never a non-gyro 107. With the popularity of this model, there are at least 5 versions and some are indeed knockoffs.

There are also two charger conventions. One, the light is OFF while charging and ON when finished or disconnected. The other is opposite.

same problem

I have the same issue. Plugged in charger, Heli in off position...rotars spin backward. I agree, there shouldn't be an electrical connection that makes that happen, unless something was jarred during a "tougher landing". Got 2 at the same time for xmas '10; yellow one is fine, red one has issues. Put a V meter on the battery, got 0V, so I suspect that that could be part of the problem (), there may be a short in the circuit that drained the battery, and when charging it turnes the blades, but I am no micro circuit guy. I'm at a loss, but I suspect it would be cheaper and easier to buy a new S107G than try to buy replacement board and or battery...IF that's the problem! thought about swapping parts to see when the problem moved, but my luck, I'd end up with 2 bad helis instead of 1. If any one has had the same problem and found a solution...there are a lot of people who would like to hear it. I've seen several similar inquiries with no solutions as of yet.

I have the same problem. Blades spin backwards with heli off on wall charger. Works with USB charger so I suspect the charger polarity is backwards. I read somewhere that the S107 polarity is reverse of some helis.

S107 polarity is the majority. But yes, it is opposite some, like San Huan.

Could poly battery be dead already?

USB Charging cable seems to have stopped working. Initially light at end of cable in usb port would blink until unit was charged. Now that light does not come on at all.

Tried charging from console but still not working. I have replaced all 6 battteries in console and still cannot get unit to operate. Helicopter flashing lights do work when powered to on. Power light on the console comes on.

Cannot find a user manual for further troubleshooting steps. Could the battery in the helicopter have gone bad already? This was a Christmas gift from 2010 so unit is less than a month old.

Please feel free to contact me at rvennette@yahoo.com if you have any clues.

Thank you

s107g helicopter

i have recently purchaces one of these copters for my son.
i have a major problem in that the top blades do not move, and simply droop down and crash into the rotating bottom blades.
nothing seems obviously broken though.
is there something simple i should be doing?

as for the blades spinning copter off i found the little black wire from the led was jammed under the circuit board shorting it out.u have to take it all apart to see it.

I have a S107G that has suddenly become unstable on the pitch axis to the point that the rotors collide and the craft crashes. Both rotors are turning and the tail rotor works as expected. After lift off and about 3 seconds of normal flight it starts oscillating on the pitch axis. The craft is unmodified. Any clues as to cause or cure?
