Maiden Flight

I just found this site. I have the Starmax J-3 Cub and maidened it about 3 months ago. I have since added 1 oz of lead inside the cowling for balance. She fly's so scale. The plane is a headturner every time I bring her out.

Counted multiple threads on this plane and I'll post again here what is cheapest priceI have found on line....

Who has them?
The cheapest I have found on line is this place.

$120.00 complete. Tho the site doesn't give much info, I emailed them to confirm that it is, indeed, the RTF 1400 version. Complete with everything.
Ready to go. Just put it together like the earlier posts shows.

If in doubt, call or shoot them an email.

With shipping to H-town, Tx. it came to $141.00...

It is worth a shot to see what all the hoopla is about, because I have an affinity for all Cubs. Big and small.

I already have the Exceed/ArtTech, smaller version and is a blast to fly...

No issues with the smaller version. Just check all the glue joints (wing to top window where the tab goes, cockpit to fuselage, strut mounts, etc...) before flying it. That has been my only gripe, so far.

A diminutive problem if one addresses it before flying.

Look closely at any close-up photos of them and you'll see parts that have come loose.

Hey TW - this is not complete, it is only the "kit". just like the product title says. It is only the airframe, no motor esc servos, nothing but the foam...

So is it a bare bones airframe, a Receiver ready, or an RTF?

I'm looking to get either a receiver ready or an arf with airframe, motor and esc?
Where's the best price?

Any idea where the best price is for a receiver ready or arf with just motor and esc?

I think the best price for the ARF would be......."Banana Hobby".

Looking at l the parts one has to attach to complete the plane it would appear as a "kit".

I emailed them and asked first for verification on the version and their reply was that it is a RTF and, "Nothing else was needed." Their exact words. In their description it does list motor, battery, 4 ch transmitter, and 6 channel receiver so why do you, "Don't think so"?

I'll find out and post my findings when I get it.

Their description.

Specification (brushless version):
Wingspan approx: 1400mm
Length: 950mm
Flying weight: 1800g
Wing load: 56g/dm2
12*Prop, Esc(45A), Powerful 3648 Motor(4Ch Tx and 6CH Rx)
4 Nine gram servos
Battery 2200mah - 14.8V

Hey Tail Wheel, please do let us know.

This is on the top of my list for my first bigger than micro aileron bird, and I really need to find THE best deal. Thanks.

Ya, let us know TW. I have the one from Banana Hobby and am looking for another for my Dad. If in fact it is $120 complete, that would be a smokin' deal...

Usually the cheapest way to get one is order and have it direct shipped from the factory to cut out the middle-man. But this is even way cheaper than that.

I'll post here on the results as to what version I get. Better be a RTF after what they told me. I did have doubts, as well, but since their regular price was $150 marked down I'm willing to give it a go. You know some sites are making killing on these planes considering the origin. Probably are sold wholesale for less than $100. I've seen them retail as hgh as $200 on some sites.
