Modifying Wire Shrouds

I replaced the line shrouds with wire and used rigging couplers, clevises, split rings, and swivels to attach to the hull. The problem is mast rake adjustment from maximum forward to aft. The shrouds need to be adjusted then, since they attach behind the mast, and with the above set up, it is tedious. I recently shortened the wires and added a string section with bowsies.
The photos show the original wire set up on the blue & white Readyset, and show this modification on the cream kit boat.

I use a different turnbuckle or rigging screw to accomplish the same thing. I use the 030-30 rigging screws from sailsetc.com and 30lb test nylon coated SS fishing leader on my boats. There a number of other brands of turnbuckles available. I like the appearance of the ones I use. They work great and look like they belong on the boats.

It's listed on the AMYA regatta page, have yet to post a NOR. Have to figure out what to say and how to post it.

CF V Readyset

i have a ready set and two CF Seawinds , i note the CF boat at minimum weight for club racing 2950g sails similar in all aspects except the CF accelerates off a turn or out of a lull better, however the ready set will keep going a little longer if trying to pinch a mark due to momentum. Over all i like the CF better. A local has utterly sanded his ready set to the bone and repainted the whole hull and keel + bulb saving 80 grams, LifePo4 battery is good for another 25g . For now im keeping all my seawinds and letting time decide which is better. A few pics of the local racing and links to our Club Page with some of our 20 year Seawind sailing history can be found here if anyone is interested https://www.facebook.com/SEAWINDAUCKLAND/

Has anyone attempted to remove creases from the stock sails? If so, how did you do it.

Thanks

I tried a steam iron, held a bit away so it does not get too hot. It was only partially successful.

Posting a link to Kyosho America's parts page for Seawind's
http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/search.....y=7&search=GO

They are not showing many parts in stock. This has become the normal status in the last few months, maybe even years. I have been successful in adding my items to their waiting list but it does take what seems to be a long time.

Japan just doesn't care much about their Seawind product line. Boats are such a small part of their overall business they don't seem to care about us a customers. Sad.

I found some parts on e-bay at this link. Not sure how long the link will be good but as of today it is valid.

I have been informed by Kyosho America that a shipment of Readysets is due mid-late September. parts are back in production and a shipment will either accompany the boats or arrive 2 weeks later. Kyosho Japan are still very much committed to the SeaWind product line but major problems with parts for other product lines took priority action.

I've purchased a number of items from that company. Good service and prices. Best place for Seawind parts right now.
