Grubby, Am I right in assuming that "fly like Valentino" would be a good something you would understand?

Well it was a good and bad day for my EXPs. The Extra Flies like a champ and I was comfortable right off the bat with it. I like is alot because there is no coupling in KE flight! Tumbles are tight but not as tight as the MXS. Over all I like it just a bit more then the MXS.

The bad part is I did a tail touch with the MXS today and stipped out the 65MG, when it happened it locked the rudder in at 25 degrees left and BAM she went. Airframe is pretty toast.

I would order another one but they never have the white ones in stock.

Glad you are enjoying the Extra EXP Grubby! It's my all around favorite of the EXPs because it flies precision so well.

Sorry to hear about the mishap with the MXS and I hope that you're able to get another one soon.

It's smoother and does nicer IMAC/Pattern. It's pretty close, but I'm liking the way the Extra flies and the way the MXS looks (though it files awesome too).

Well, that sucks. At least she went out on her shield doing awesome 3D.

I believe there's some more coming in January, but you would have to ask Chris or Curtis to be sure. The thing with the MXS is that the only way you will get one is to pre-order it, so I suggest you do it soon.

well, it was a gorgeous day in Denver, CO so I took my father in law to the field to show him the EDGE 48 EXP. I was showing off trying some tumbling moves too low on full rates and in she went. She stalled coming out of a low loop because she went full nose up in my panick to pull out and then bellied in. Damage isn't bad, but that landing gear block is toast again. Need to make another trip to the LHS for some carbon strips and ply. I think the full throw on the elevator did me in. I need to get something with triple rates.

The Extra EXP seems to be easier to fly all around. Even with over 50 Degrees of elevator the palne didnt feel as pitch sensitive as the MXS. I never fly on low rates so when I had everything on the MXS maxed it was harder for me to be precise with it.

Denver; you crashed it before we had a chance to fly! We had 15 planes out today at the turf fields down here.

The MXS isn't hard to fly, but I agree the Extra is more the relaxing and laid back of the two.

Ha! Try them with 88 degrees of elevator! I thought they were going to be so pitch sensitive that they would be difficult, but they aren't.

My formula for all these 3D planes is 45 degrees on everything and 75% expo on everything. Both 3DHS and Extreme Flight call for that (or every close to it) in their manuals, so there has to be something to it. The EXP series is a bit of a departure though, with the huge elevator movements.

Even with 88 degrees on the elevator, the Extra is nice and smooth when running that much expo, but she sure pitches up when you hammer the right stick back. Every time I do a wall I expect it to spit the wheel pants off!
