How do you guys plug a Lipo directly into the receiver? Do you make your on connector or can you buy them?

Easiest way is to buy a lipo with the jst connector already on it. Most smaller lipos come that way. Otherwise you just buy the connector and put it on there with solder

Yeah, some batteries you can order with the connector, or you can make them up yourself.
Servo connector kits and a crimp tool are handy things to own, sometimes

What would happen if your just not paying attention and plugged the battery in backwards? Would it fry the receiver?

Not with the standard servo/battery connector. (And to be more specific my current knowledge is of Spektrum/JR receivers here)
If you 'actually' manage to send voltage through in reverse, that's probably a bad thing.

With the standard connector though, all you're doing is swapping ground and signal wires.
No harm. Switch it back and rock on.

Think about when you accidentally plug in a standard wall wart to an old style receiver battery the wrong way.
Nothing really happens, because you're only connected at the positive connection when the connector is backwards

Thanks Doc for the great answer, as well as others who also suggest jb weld or letting it go.

I think I will try DOC's vice/CA approach, though.

What is the best way to remove monokote and still be able to reuse it? I have to do some rebuilding and I don't want to lose the fancy cut monokote.

Apply about 225 to 250* heat on it with an iron. It will loosen up the glue allowing it to come off.

I haven't done it to try to save the ultracote, but I agree with losifanatic. Increase heat if necessary (e.g., if you use a sock over your sealing iron and aren't getting good results).

I did... Here's the link with a picture. I cut down full size dubro skis... Took 35 grams off the overall weight. Don't get the light formed plastic ones they are garbage. Got rid off the supplied springs and made my own.
