78" is about as big as I can afford. I'd really like a Yak in 60" or 78".

servo clamps

The 91" has me so excited, but I am also excited about the the 48" profile yak. My son is waiting on the 48" full fuse yak.

Speaking of which, the young lad is learning a lesson in supply and demand, and has decided to offer a president's day sale on the servo extension clamps that Doc Austin suggested he make.

President's day special: Two for the price of one, maximum of 20 for the price of ten. That's a total of 10 clamps for $3.50, or 20 servo extension clamps for $7.00, shipping included. Click on link above and PM your paypal information to me if interested. Video on how to use is in the link above.

I got my set of servvo extension clamps last week and they fit perfectly. The edges are perfectly straight. They work and look great.

I'll be using Xander's cutsom monokote sealing strips on my new 48" Yak EXP.

There is a 78" MXS in the works. The prototype was shown over the summer in the Red/White/Blue scheme from the 48". If memory serves, the electric version will come out first, followed at some point by the gas version, which is the one I am interested in.

Now with the 60" Laser coming I might talk myself back into that size class and a 12S 3300 setup might be pretty nice on a 78" MXS.

I run a 12s setup in a 71" plane and if I did a 78" MXS It will be 12s too.

Since I already have the 10S on the A60-16M with a 22x10 prop producing 3700 Watts on a 13.42 pound 78 Extra, the next 78 may be what I need to test the 12S setup on a 216Kv DM4330 with a 20x8 to 3100 Watts and a full 1.5 pounds lighter (12.2 pounds).... which is to Bryan's credit as it was his suggestion.

I'll then go in the opposite direction and try the Q80-7M on 11S with a 22x10 E Mejzlik to 4300 Watts (310 Watts per pound at 13.8 pounds). This setup should get an easy 7 minutes... real easy. We've already flown the Extra at 14 pounds with the same 3700 Watts, and it's tough to notice the weight difference. Add another 500 Watts and we may not care.
