What do you guys think of this? It's a 3 channel heli.

Can't be a "Coaxial" heli if it has a single main prop. In the features below (off the XHeli link) it says 3 channel, but in the "-Full function:" line it gives what looks like typical 4-channel control.

Feature:

-Alloy structure, unique design
-Electronic fine-tuning, flying more stable
-All-round 3 channel control
-Advanced intelligent balance system
-New digital full 3 Channel control remotely
-Full function: up/down, forward/backward, turning left and right, fixed-point hovering

That is no coaxial, it's a 4 Channel single rotor Fixed Pitch heli., looks real nice, and only $60 shipped for a FP bird, I like it! It's a little smaller than Esky HBFP and Walkera #4/Exceed Falcon 40. Nice carbon frame. Also, it has a nice 45 degree flybar, should be more stable than HBFP and Walkera #4 types with 90 degree flybar. Hmmm! Very interesting, for $60 shipped also.

Here, here is a big DH 3 channel coaxial:

Looks like whoever is doing Xheli's web pages is getting them confused.

A kiosk at the Mall is selling those and numerous versions of the Symas, for 3 times the Helihobby price.
Other than that, these guys with the gyros are much easier to fly than the previous non-gyro'd helis, lemme tell ya!

Better order one fast, as they might have the price confused for a 3-channel coaxial heli too. If it's really a 4-channel with carbon parts etc for $60, that's looking like a good heli to try out.

There's already an extensive discussion on this heli here.

That's true but the most extensive discussion, and analysis on the 9100 up to date is in that other thread. Regardless, it could have been mentioned in the, "Talk about any new heli's on the market 3ch,4ch and 6ch ! All welcome ! thread since it's not a coax"

KB does have a way of stirring up some excitement around here every now and then!.

I just bought a Double Horse 9100

All, I just bought a new one of these in Shainghai. Paid $45 US. Shockingly low for a FP single rotor heli. I'll end the speculation now. It is not CP. It is NOT 4 channel.

There is only one servo on the swashplate, for forward and back. This heli will only fly in the direction of the nose, or the tail. If you want to change direction, you've got to yaw it in that direction then fly forward or backward. Analog 3CH transmitter, fairly cheap looking but with trim for throttle, yaw and elevator. 7.4VLion pack, and pretty strong motor. Gyro works well, and the tail is pretty stable. All plastic Hiller head probably won't last long, but the frame looks like carbon fiber. (might be look-alike though) The unit I bought charges off 220V, so the dealer gave me a 110 - 220V converter for use in the US.

Being a 3 CH bird, its easy to crash. If you're holding a hover, and a breeze starts taking it sideways towards an obstacle, you have to yaw it away from the trouble, and fly it forward to escape. Makes you REALLY appreciate 4 CH. I've already crashed it, and broke the tail rotor assembly off the boom. Looking for parts now.

Same as a 3-channel coaxial heli. Thanks for the details on this DH 9100.

What is the other link that looks like the left/right control on a 4-channel? Is it just a dummy link that adds rigidity to the swash head?

Although the photos make it look like a servo linkage (there's another one exactly like it on the other side), it is just a "brace" pivot point so the swash plate can pivot up/down powered from the aft mounted servo. I've taken a good picture of this for ya, but can't figure out how to publish it to this forum...;-(

When you do a New Reply ... go down below where you would enter text, and you will see a button named "Manage Attachments". You can then upload pictures directly off you hard drive ... but be sure to reduce their size as there is a size limit on uploads this way.

Thanks for the tip on the photos. Here's the shot of the head.
