Very cool project BIM!
When I was 16 I made a simple hovercraft with a leaf blower and foam board. It worked okay, but I wasn't satisfied with it.

Also, about that accusation, notice how his "evidence" was the picture of a hand with a motor? Well that just happens to be a stock photo from hobbyking! He obviously lacks rc experience to notice such things.
Anyhow, keep up the great work kev! I'm sure you can do it!

Just a couple of thoughts, If you poke holes into the foam the gorilla glue will expand up into those and give more surface area to make the joint stronger.

I would research a squirrel cage fan, (centrifugal ?) type fan for the lift fan, I believe that would give better inflation pressure than a prop in a hole.

Good luck! I'll be watching. Kirk.

I really like that idea, but there are none available that would work as a drop in unit. I would have to build one which does not seem all that difficult.

Another idea:
I was originally going to have it so that the skirt is sealed completely around the edges and is attached to the plenum. Then there would be a hole in the plenum. Now that I think about it, this is a failure waiting to happen. So what I will do is not put a hole in the plenum. I will open up some sections of the skirt underneath so that air has no choice but to flow through the skirt.

I was not satisfied with the way the first sets of spacers came out, so I started over. I will have them finished by Friday (drying and curing time).

Thanks bb.

All I have to do now is glue the the two center spacers. I got caught up at school earlier so got set back a few hours which resulted in an extra day.

I was thinking about that cage fan idea, maybe you could convert a fan from a used leaf blower or something larger, I think AC units use this type of fan, stuff with fans like this can be found at garage sales, junk yards etc, could get a suitable fan quite cheap, might be able to get your mont back on it by scrapping the unwanted parts.

You could also ask at a small engine repair shop if they can order you just the fan from a gas lead blower. I'm betting they could.

Those parts look nice.

It has been raining today, but I managed to glue the bottom corners. (refer to post 4)
