Need Help Hovercraft project.

My 14 yeard old and I are trying to desing and build an electric RC hovercraft.
We would appreciate any information and avice you may offer.

One of the question I have is what motor and prop and battery to use.
I think it would be smart to desing the craft arround the power system.

The hovercraft would be a single motor design for lift and thrust.

I was thinking of using a 6-3 prop with a 2000-2200KV brushless motor.
will that provide eough power to lift a 20"x 12" "D" shape platform (and electronics) made out of foam reinforced with thin plywood or balsa?

My other question is how nest route the airflow from the intake scoop behid the bottom of the propeller arc to create the lift? We are thinking of using simular system to this:

RC Hoververcraft design, build and test runs 2nd video - road and snow (3 min 16 sec)

I would appreciate any suggestion.

How many grams is that motor? Thats a pretty small hovercraft so as long as it is a around 20 grams it should get the job done.

Use Basswood, its stiff and not as heavy as Plywood.

You wouldn't even have to reinforce it if you use the right thickness or type of foam. I plan on doing a 9' long ridable hovercraft out of foam.

I was thinking of using a motor that weights 40grams. Is a 2200Kv 20A with a 6-3 Prop.

Is it an inruuner or outrunner? What is its dimensions? How many cells and what type will you be running? 40 grams is a lot of motor for a craft this size.

This are the specs of the motor I want to use:
Ni-Mh Battery:8 - 10 cells
Li-Po Battery: 2 / 3 cells
RPM per volt : 2200
Poles: 14
No Load Current / 10V: 2.05A
Max Current: 30A/60 sec
Dimension: 27.5x26
Shaft: 3.17mm
Weight: 34g
Recommended Max Propeller: 6x4
Recommended Model Weight: 200 - 500g (7oz to 22oz)

I was thinking of a 3 cell 1500ah battery and a 6-4 prop.

You should be fine with that greyson combo, if you find that you need to loose some weight you can always just put on a 800 mah 3s lipo to lighten it up.

This is an incredibly fun craft. It only takes a few minutes to cut and build.
