Lazy Bee 40" wing with a 4 stroke....Will it fly.

Hi to all,
Building a new Bee 40 " wing.....Thinking of putting a Magnum 30 4 stroke on it , the weight of the engine and muffler is 10.3OZ plus fuel tank.
Is this a wise choice???? Or should I use a 25 2 stroke??
Feel free to give me your thoughts!!!
Thanks, Eng30

Anything will fly if has a big enough wing for its weight and sufficient speed. Wingspan and engine weight alone would not give us enough info to say yea or nay to either engine and how you intend to fly it. Without that info given, you have to find someone that has flown either combination for advice.

For a "known to fly" extreme example is the Goldberg Butterfly. It has a 99 inch wing, 916 square inch area, and an estimated 50 ounce all up weigh. And the recommended power plant is only a .15. Albeit, its a powered glider and all the engine is expected to do is get the plane reasonably some altitude. So, what are your specs and intentions?

Here's the specifications posted online at Clancy Aviation's website...

It says 0.049 to 0.15 2-stroke or 0.20 to 0.26 4-stroke.

Hi, I will use a 40" for sport flying and use a 48" wing when I put the LB floats on to fly from water. I just do general sport flying....loops, rolls, and low level flying.....( about 10-15 feet off the ground). My other Bee is electric ....want to try a fuel Bee now.
