My question is . Should I have the antenna pointed down towards the ground or up in the air?

Looking for well made 5.8ghz cp antenna. Who sells good quality units?
readymaderc makes great antenna's for 5.8ghz. Just do some searching on their site. As for the whip antenna's keep them both pointed straight up, parallel to each other. The signal gets weak when your antenna's are close to perpendicular. Check out the first page of this thread and look for antenna polarization. Also some problems could be multipathing witch is well known on 5.8. The CP antennas are the best way to fix that.

So long as the cloverleaf is vertical, it doesn't matter whether it is upright or upside down. What you want to buy is either a set of Blubeams or True Wired antennas. They both come as a set and are available at many FPV retailers. These should increase video quality and range by a huge margin.

Since you have the Dominators, you can check out www.futurehobbies.com and take a look at the 3 turn goggle mount helical if you want more range. Mind you this requires you to look in the general direction of the aircraft. You have a beam of 145 degrees, so it's pretty easy.

In regard to the tx antenna bein vertical, i had mine mounted horizontal and my rx vertical. Will thus cause issue? Because i want very happy with it... Havent tried to rig it up vertically yet. 900mhz is tough to work with on my quad lol

Is this a decent system?
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=309
It looks like it comes with everything i need... $200 is really about as much as i want to spend on this, and i do want to use a separate battery incase i want to move it from my quadcopter to one of my planes i can do so easily. So, is this good, and can i get something better for around the same price / cheaper, or should i just go ahead with this?
Thanks.

Laying one antenna on it's side while the other is upright is one of the worst things you can do for your video...

That is OK at best. The camera is good during the day, but not so good in the afternoon. You will want to build yourself some circularly polarized antennas. Check my blog for the "Cloverleaf" antenna and the "skew-planar wheel" antenna. You will need to build a set of these if you want to get more than 150 feet. You can also build a "winmill" and a "Fan antenna" for similar results if straighter wire is easier for you.

Alright, i will look at the antennae design on your blog.
Now for the camera, what would you suggest? When you say it won't work in the afternoon what do you mean? Like lower framerate, or dark images? What parts do you suggest i should get, all while keeping it under $200 preferably.
Thanks!

^That's not the goggle mount, but it's a similar antenna. I guess Wade hasn't updated his website with the new stock yet. The goggle mount has a stiffer cable and has a right angle plug on the end.
