Question about discharged lipo

hey guys i crashed my rc car the other day after about 7mins of running on a 4000mah lipo 30c 7.4v battery. I am wondering how i should go about charging my battery when i receive my parts today.Should i run the battery till it dies or use my discharge option on my charger?

Why waste cycles by discharging it? Either top up and use whats left.

I just ran it with the throttle trim up (stationary)for about 10mins and then charged it.

Never run a lipo "till it dies"
Over discharge will damage it.
You should aim for a maximum 75% to 80% of the stated capacity on recharge. Nothing wrong with using less of the available capacity.

There is no need to discharge it fully every time you use it. Better to leave it at about 1/2 charge between uses.
I think the charger you have has a "storage" setting that will bring the battery either up or down to the correct voltage.
The discharge setting is probably too low if it is 3.0 volts/cell. Don't use it!
