Help! How do I splice my simulator cord?

My Real Flight G/2 interface cord has failed at the plug where it connects to the buddy cord outlet on the back of my JR transmitter. I bought and cut a buddy cord to splice onto the interface cord. The interface cord is a co-axial with a white sheath over the center wire, surrounded by the outer wire and insulation. Unfortunately the buddy cord, even though it looks as if it would be a co-axial, it is not -- it has three wires -- a black, a red, and a brown. Which wires do I splice together?

Any help would be very appreciated,
John

Well, thanks a lot for your help!!

I went to Radio Shack and got a new plug to solder onto the wires. It works great. It was a pita to strip the co-ax wires -- but it saved $25 plus shipping for a new interface.
