Skywalker #1

My first Skywalker has been converted to nightflight duty. She has many, many daylight miles... now ready for the spring and most likely the cause of some UFO reports out here in the boonies.

It's a lot easier to find a downed plane in the snow.
Don't delay your happy until spring, get some hours on her, she looks great.
It's -14C this morning but the winds are down and the snow is fresh..fly-on.

Hello Is 1 elite, if you can get the inverted vee and tx as far away from all other equipment as you can, it will work where you have it but it will work much better away from the gopro and other camera. good luck at the weekend. the inverted vee rocks!

Just finished up my Twinstar II after getting the rest of my parts.
Running on 3-4S 5000mah main battery along with a 3s 1200 accessory battery on board, 1.3ghz video, 2.4 for the FY ground station, 12ch dragonlink for plane.
Got the ground station on 3s 8000mah battery running the myflydream AAT with dual diversity.

I flew this plane with 2.4 video for a couple weeks to get the FY autopilot working right but decided to try 1.3 for the video since the FY ground station was running on 2.4. After doing final testing and it's good to go I will try some paint or stickers to cover the wires and what not.

Sorta boring video of it before changing to 1.3. I wanted to see how the actual airframe flew before putting more things on it.
fpv twinstar II 3 (12 min 7 sec)

Here's my latest iteration of the Lemma series - this one is 53" WS with a KF airfoil. The KF didn't meet my expectations, so I'm currently rebuilding a traditional flat bottom, airfoiled wing.

Currently flying 1.2 vid gear, a 600TVL cam, Remzibi OSD, and DragonLink.

angry thanks for the info. im planning to put the video tx in the back by the propeller on my skywalker. the reason why i did no want to mount it there is because is near my dragonlink antenna wich is mounted on the tail.. any inputs ?

My bixler has the tx as you do behind the propeller and the inverted vee on the side of the fin but I have the DL antenna mounted to a small bamboo skewer at the wing root. I did start with the skewer in fuselage at the leading edge, try to keep both antennas away from everything electronic and each other. Sometimes difficult but well worth the time.

Regards angry.

Im using an APC8x6 and can easily fly 1 hour on 5300mah 4S

Heres its 45min flight using 4100mah.

Well... Heres my Second Super Sky Surfer... Almost complete but the first flew so well (till it met its fate) that I am taking more time on this one... Full night flight setup getting two FPV cameras (One 3.8mm and a 25mm lens)

And my most reliable wing... Its been through just about everything... Trees, Walls, Powerlines, Street lights, Street signs, and a river... Still going like the day I built it
For only 900g it carries a Sony AS10 and only uses a 130w motor

Radjet 420 FPV

I built two FPV versions of this plane with an interchangeable 1 gr Foxtech camera that is powered by a separate 150mAh 1 S Lipo.

The first plane is basically the stock plane, I just added a 200mW 5.8Ghz module from fpvhobby.com. The wire antenna works fine within the range I need ( < 300m). On the first flight the picture was perfect all the time.

The second plane was some kind of an experiment. Since I am not a very experienced pilot, I thought I should try building a Radjet 420 with a safety back-up. I built it from spare parts and adding some extras:

Eagletree 2D/3D stabilizer
200 mW 5.8 Ghz from fpvhobby
10 g motor for more thrust
homemade cloverleaf
V8R7-II receiver from Fr-Sky (range 1500+ m)

The Eagletree Guardian works well in this small plane. Flying is very easy. And with the mode switch (self stabilization in 2D mode) the Guardian saved the plane twice when I lost orientation on my maiden (no FPV though).

Disadvantage: Due to the weight ( ~100 g) and the power consumption the 240mAh 2S battery from Hyperion only lasts about 3 minutes.

New plane for new 2013 season.
It very similar to the Skywalker, slightly larger. More sound aerodynamics, I think.

Drinkes,
Your post is relatively old by now, but I just came across it. That is a great looking plane. Very nice efficient looking Skywalker-type plane. Any details? Build log? Flight updates?

I went to his YouTube posts--I think he's the Ukraine. It does look like a sleek aircraft though. Comes apart for transporting?
