Agressive driver
IR blocking does tend to make the colors more vivid, because in IR light everything looks black and white.

First one is an old Stryker I've had for years. I gutted it and then lobbed off the nose and put a "Zephyr like" pod on the front to hold the Gopro and PZ0420 camera. All up with the 3000mah 3s battery, Gopro2, and a Cyclops OSD onboard it weighs in just under a kilogram (or a shade over 2lbs.). Launching is precarious (always has been with this plane) and it's a bitch to keep trimmed at different speeds, but once she gets on step it flies great. Climbs steady at 15-20 fps on 11-12 amps using an RCTimer BC-2826/6 2200kv motor/APC 6x4 prop combo. Acts just like a typical wing does in flight too. The only thing I still want to do is cut some depron triangles to put just aft of the "pod" and make it a bit more aerodynamic.

I built a similar wide-body Stryker for FPV, and I might have a solution for you to help with handling... I found that with the added surface area to the center the wing became very pitch sensitive, especially at speed. My solution was to add a horizontal stab between two vertical stabs similar to the stock ones. I used a standard elevator too and switched the elevons to conventional ailerons... this smoothed out the flight performance considerably, and the only reason I'm not flying it much now is its kinda slow and boring, but its far more stable and fun to fly than when I first widened it and flew it with elevons...

Hi aaronredbaron,

your suggestions to add horizontal stabs, would that be just beetwen the original verstical stabs in original location or did you use twin boom to extend the vert stab then fit the horizontal stab/elevator
i always wonder how the stryker would behave with extended boom n elevator unit, bit like dh vampire style
hmmm wonder if the hk vampire stabs/elev would fit stryker easy

Mobius Cables... I got em'

Just finished my Bullet proof EPS wing. Entire wing is wrapped in Fiber tape, Carbon Fiber Spar, and all Gorilla glued.

Starting with this little 2000kv motor on a 3s 1000mah lipo.

If i get too much interference from the Aluminum tape it will be replaced with 3m laminate.

Here are some photos of my newly-complete Skywalker. Flies like a champion.

Motor is a 920 kv swinging a 10x6 on 4S.

Plenty of mods including slotted flaps, carbon strips for extra rigidity, Dubro hardware all around, and upgraded motor mount.

I haven't flown FPV with it yet, but will very soon (would be out right now if the wind weren't 20+ knots).

LOL.
just about...

Got a maiden today... had to drop the throws to 20% with 40% expo just to keep it calm.

with a half used 3S battery it got to 45mph which this small was scary... going to try it Full FPV tomorrow.

ok hot shot. Your videos looks freakin' sweet. What are you using for a ground recorder and what settings on the pz0420? If we're using the same kit I'm doing something wrong.

It ll be great for fpv. I had a similar one. Very low flying behind cars was the best feeling
Use the inner hole of your servo horn. If you use only 20% of throws you loose sensitivity

Here is my small drone:

I get 40 minutes of flight time on a single 2200mah 3S lipo (maybe more if I don't push it that hard).
