Thanks! And yup, the PZ0420 is what I use. Best FPV cam I've ever used

IR block version is suppose to make the colors more 'vivid'.... its the same camera as yours but with some sort of filter...

Ummm.... interesting? You can always change the settings with the PZ0420's OSD thingamabob to get a different picture you know

New plane #1

This holiday season our family is experiencing what we'll call a "financial setback". So instead of a buying a few new planes to put under the Christmas tree I decided to dust off some old LOS planes I had in my garage and convert them to FPV instead.

First one is an old Stryker I've had for years. I gutted it and then lobbed off the nose and put a "Zephyr like" pod on the front to hold the Gopro and PZ0420 camera. All up with the 3000mah 3s battery, Gopro2, and a Cyclops OSD onboard it weighs in just under a kilogram (or a shade over 2lbs.). Launching is precarious (always has been with this plane) and it's a bitch to keep trimmed at different speeds, but once she gets on step it flies great. Climbs steady at 15-20 fps on 11-12 amps using an RCTimer BC-2826/6 2200kv motor/APC 6x4 prop combo. Acts just like a typical wing does in flight too. The only thing I still want to do is cut some depron triangles to put just aft of the "pod" and make it a bit more aerodynamic.

New plane #2

Second is an old Formosa. I remember this thing flying like an arrow when I flew it LOS many years ago. Unfortunately it's not as good in FPV I'm finding. I'm still tweeking it, and this thing really has been around the block, so to be fair it might not be the airframes problem. It still flies decent though, and the "warbird like" view is a pretty fun change from my usual planes.

Pretty simple setup on this one. Only a 1300mah battery, no OSD, and no special antennas (just using the whip on the 1280 video). I never intend on taking this past 1/2 mile so no need really. I did put a pan servo on it though as looking off the wing is fun on a bird like this.

Ground station feed looking over the nose and looking off the starboard wing.

Only one flight on the Stryker so far. A relatively boring flight with the sole intention of just testing the limits of the plane in mind. A "shakedown" flight if you will. There is some high altitude stuff in the middle and low to the ground stuff at the end. My only complaint is that it "wags" a bit. Pretty typical of lightweight wings with winglets on them in my experience though.
