Ha, ya, very windy out there. Non-stop rain. Sat or Sun look plausible for a maiden though.

Had a few minutes on my lunch break today to hotwire some new wings... Figured 8.5' or 2590mm wingspan should work good for a new FPV glider or pusher drone... not sure yet...

maybe ill build a skywalker type setup... This wing, Aerodrive 3530 1350kv using a 10" prop...

We will see

lol... each side took 8 minutes from Foam block to cut and ready for spars... If i raise the power by 100-200mA i could get them done in 6 min each

Yup, kind of stupid prices these days. Went to order some new solder iron tips. $20 for 4 tips and $50 + customs & tax for delivery. Order cancelled.

5m DG1000e FPV project update

Hi,
goal for this project was to set up a 5m scale glider, capable to soar in FPV within 3km range, 360 degrees.

DG1000e has now more than 100 flights behind it; I am still flying without RangeVideo OSD 5.1 Autopilot enabled in “safe” visual range – visual takeoffs (did several FPV takeoffs)/landings and FPV (Monitor/Fatshark) soaring.
Next season we will go full FPV...

See the Video:

Nice plane and nice video to show it in action. Interesting view with that cam on the tail. I see you have video out on the gopro too with pan and tilt. I like the cable going from the ground station to the tripod - good idea! Lucky that you just clipped the other glider as these planes look like they would be hard to fix and expensive.
thanks for sharing
