My T-45's wing tip does curve downwards near the tip. The wing itself is slightly anhedral before glueing. I really have to push the upper part to the fuselage to get it to be very slightly dihedral. Don't know if mine was warped or what but the next one (if there is), I'll run the wing middle under hot water to bend them slightly up.

Oh, I also fixed some of the incidence in the horiz stab.

My Red Arrows T-45 actually twist at the tips and has no dihedral at all. I know that the real plane is not that way but I really like the way it looks on mine. And it flies wonderfully! From what I can tell the Red T-45 is made slightly different. All of the ones that I have seen have flat wings and they are made from a slightly stiffer foam. The white T-45 is different and has the dihedral like the real one. But they both fly the same. I have flown my with CrazyJ in formation and they fly exactly the same.

Then is more simple ... you don't need a mixer, and you can plug the Gyro straight between RX and Servo

Latest News on the Next 50mm EDF Jets to be Released ...

I posted this up over in the original 50mm thred but thought I would share it here too:

Rumor has it there are more new 50mm models coming!

The A6 and F8 are imminent ... following them in the pipeline next should be the JAS 39 and Mirage 2000. SO I guess you delta enthusiasts can see that Jalin does watch and take ideas from this thread?! Also, new 50mm models will include the Fouga Magistar and U2.

Also upcoming, in the 40mm Micro product line (which is actually 35mm I just found out) will be the F18, F16 and T45. And how about a twin 35mm Mig 29 and A10?!

Jon,
You left out the A-7...that is also coming, right?

Put me down for A-7, F-8, JAS39, Mirage2000 in 50mm. Then for 35mm. I'll take T-45 & A-10

Jon, is it too late to have Jalin reshape the canopy for the A-6? Should be smoother transition into the fuselage as opposed to the bubble... Hate to complain but the cartoon bubble keeps bugging me and has reduced the A-6 to a "maybe" on my list.

Great stuff Joe - am waiting for a suitable ESC (plumped for 40A) and will be joining you with 4S on the stock motor - will also be trying a 6 blade fan on it.

Do you know the amp draw on 4S?

thanks in advance.

It is in the 22-25amp range. And sometimes less. A 30amp ESC will work fine.

On the stock 5 blade fan (balanced) I get 22A peak and settles down to 21A after a few seconds.

Ironically, the 6 blade impeller shows 18A and 275 Watts. In theory the additional blade should make consumption go up, there must be a reduction in pitch or blade area. This is two different examples of the same motor with different fans so it's not a back to back comparison using the same motor, but I can't imagine motors at this level being that far out of spec compared to each other. I used a 30A pentium and it's not even remotely stressed.

Just be prepeared for a little bit of left torque roll at higher throttle, mostly noted at launch. Evidently not quite enough stator. Flys great even with that.

Hey guys - I'm going to maiden my T-45 this weekend if the weather co-operates. It is completely stock. I'm going to use Sky Lipo 3S 1000mah batteries. I'm setting the timer for 4:00min. Is that too long for the stock configuration and this battery?

Thanks!
Tom

just receive my F-16 from hobbyking yesterday i just finished building this little jet and everything work perfect. My only problem is the CG. To get it balance, i have to put my suport at 45 mm from the leading edge of the wing. In the manuel, the balance point is supposed to be at 60mm. If i put it a 60mm, the plane is nose heavy. the battery pack is alerady at the maximum in the back of the battery tray. I use a HK 6ch 2.4 Ghz RX that is very light weight. So, what should i do ??
