Nope. Just clearanced and balanced the stock fan, and it uses a 4s 800 mAh 40C pack. Rips along pretty nicely on 4s, never tried it on 3s so no report there.

@Clemens, Thanks. The rod covers are huge but should perform well.
I love the design of the L-39 the more I see it. Like the idea of the intakes away from grass and debris.
Could you PLEASE post a link to those 5.6g servos? I've been hunting HXT500 metal gear equivs for a long time now. Would these be the ones?

@Joe, I fear the F9F now. I'd been thinking of getting the Hk 64mm version soon anyway. I hear it's really a sweet flier.
I'm a raw edf pilot so I want to go with the easiest options I can find.
Think I'll order me a T-45 and L-39 for Christmas.

PS - I have a 50mm A-6 here in the box (HK Freebie )
Also a 35mm F-86 I bought used here.
So I have plenty to play with.

ON a side note, if you're into wings, the NP Neptune/HK Sonic 64 EDF is a sweet flying plane. Stock 3s at 340W is a tad slow for it's size but still a blast to fly. I'm feeling out the power options here with my 4s benchtest:

we can take off without that

here is the collision, not that exciting really. I had a chance to avoid it by going straight between two cables, but in that split second I thought I was in front of them and kept pulling up.
The plane saved itself, dived and rolled, I just had to pull up.
The keychain camera cut out so I didnt capture the landing which was smooth - I finally learned to keep a bit of power on landing.

AMX hits pylon wire and survives (1 min 38 sec)

I just picked up a BlitzRC "Mini" F86 from Banana Hobby with auto gyros.
3 channel, aileron, elevator, throttle.
They have a whole series of these planes on their website.
She flies great but I was just wondering if these are the same planes as the Sky Angel series because I've barely seen anyone mention the F86 or anything about autogyros in several hundred posts on this thread.
I think they are the same size and design scheme so I have to believe that they're the same plane.

From what I understand, another company bought manufacturing licenses to some SkyAngels planes and added 2-axis gyros. BH is selling these under their BlitzRCWorks banner just like the SkyAngels. Pretty much the same airframes.

Not exactly, the "other" company is actually a subsidiary. It's merely smoke and mirrors.

Sound like a winner? Are there any equal or better? (have the Screamer)
Slowest landing of the 6 I own is the F-18. Practically high alphas then almost falls on its tail.

Got a T-33, F-9 an a AMX that are getting new 6000kv.
Any worries about battery space if I went with 1300 3s packs?
Thanks

Speed ,

Sure you won't need to go with 4S on that motor?

if the 6k is going w/ a wemo the bigger issue is finding a 1300 that will put up w/ the 30 amp draw.

Exactly
Ordered 3 - 6000kv motors/ EDF from Don, Mounted and Balanced.

Going to order 1/2 dozen 40c packs for my Christmas
Any recommendation?

I rebuilt and flew my f9f today... Yes i crashed and was able to tape it together and went through 2 and half packs until the final crash when i tried a loop and it stalled and i kind of lost orientation... so tonight replaced servo, fixed wing and broken nose and i am all ready to do it again..i have about 15mins total flight time and i must say its a lot of fun ,easy to repair and the edf is rock solid...I just have to get the feel for it a little better and just stick to basic flying... I am guessing top speed with my stock setup and 1000mah 15c is around 70 mph which is fine for me...i also like how it flys slow at around 40% throttle...
