My first Glider. ME-321 Gigant
OK, I finally got around to building a glider for tow launches (from my R/C JU-52)
and wouldn't you know it, it's a scale model, rather than a generic foam... thing. I have been fascinated by this thing since watching an old WINGS episode on Giants back in the early 90s. Finally getting around to building a model. I plan to run her with 4 servos, an ESC with BEC and 1320 3S lipo, 'cause I'm a junk builder So far, it's only taken me a few hours in a couple of days. I plan to cover the clamshell front end with tissue paper mache. Early indicators are that I WILL have to add some dead weight to the nose unfortunately. Wingspan 69 inches. Wish me luck! Barrett |

We want to see the VIDs of the tow ups !! :-)
Looks like it'll be interesting ! I'd require/insist on a Slow Tug NOT a fast one ! If you like that NOSE check out the Hall Cherokee by Seadog ! https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1244137 |

That Cherokee is GORGEOUS! I'll have to read up on that thread. Looks like some fine precision woodwork!
Here is the towplane, BTW. Also one of mine. (and no, it doesn't have to go that fast.) Hey, at least I got the right country

Kewel,
I 've flown behind the pharmacy with eliworm and "the Guys" ! Been at the field by the industrial park on the Esat end too ! It was a coupla yrs ago. That oughta do fine for a tow plane ! I built a Smaller version Pegesus and with a 42xx SK turnigy dn 6 cells ! and it pulled up Cularis sized gliders no problemo ! |

Nope ! Not an EX-AZ
Too hot for my tastes. Just was there and knew some of the guys from RCG and took the time to look them up and find the flying sites ! Feb in Havasu this year. |

Humming along. This thing has been so fun to work on! Fast, easy and still looks like the intended aircraft.
The nose of the aircraft is the part I've been thinking about the most since long before I built it. Those visible horizontal ribs are just BEGGING to be done in balsa and tissue. For once, a scheme for how to achieve an effect actually worked just like I imagined it! It was probably the most fun part of the build. Hope it flies more than once. Barrett |

I've been thinking that clamshell front end reminds me of somebody, but I just couldn't put my finger on it...

Scale detailing is just about done on the glider and I did the tug mods to the JU-52 today. All I need is for the servos to get here and hook 'em up!
This build was so fast that I got the airframe totally done before the servos could even get here! |
