9 inch rffs ultimate night flyer

Woohoo!

I finally got an rffs plane to fly well! This is my new ultimate. 9 inch wingspan with Bob Selman undercambered wings. Thanks Bob. I flew with an echarger gearbox and a 3X3 prop on a 145 kokam cell. It flys very nicely. Loops are possible with a slight dive and stall turns are fun. It turns on a dime since it is so short coupled. Did I mention it has lights! Has anyone else put lights on an rffs model? The lights are goldmine smd leds. Red and green on the wings and blue in the tail. They are wired directly to the battery.

After the first few test flights I decided to try another power system. It is a geared M20 at 4.2:1 and a gunther prop on 1 cell 230 kokam. Weight went from 34 grams to 38 with 72 squares of wing. Again...thanks Bob for the gearbox. The jury is still out, but it is dark now and night flying is great!

Tell me what you think,

Looks cute! Nice Job.

I know a few people have done lights on an rffs ship. My Carbon Breeze has them and they are removable.

That's a real cool plane! Did you notice better performance with the new gear ratio?

It was much faster, but I am still in the testing phase. I think I have too much wing area...it's real draggy.

Just came back from more flights. Unfortunately my 230 pack has become unsoldered and I am out of aluminum solder paste. I am back to the 4.2:1 gearbox with a gws 4.5X4 prop. This seems to be a nice combination, but the 145 just won't cut it.
