9 inch rffs ultimate night flyer
I finally got an rffs plane to fly well! This is my new ultimate. 9 inch wingspan with Bob Selman undercambered wings. Thanks Bob. I flew with an echarger gearbox and a 3X3 prop on a 145 kokam cell. It flys very nicely. Loops are possible with a slight dive and stall turns are fun. It turns on a dime since it is so short coupled. Did I mention it has lights! Has anyone else put lights on an rffs model? The lights are goldmine smd leds. Red and green on the wings and blue in the tail. They are wired directly to the battery.
After the first few test flights I decided to try another power system. It is a geared M20 at 4.2:1 and a gunther prop on 1 cell 230 kokam. Weight went from 34 grams to 38 with 72 squares of wing. Again...thanks Bob for the gearbox. The jury is still out, but it is dark now and night flying is great!
Tell me what you think,
