Happy Thanksgiving from Afghanistan!

Hey guys, just wanted to drop in quick and tell ya all Happy Thanksgiving! We are doing med evac at a small base in south-western Afghanistan. Unfortunatly we have been busy today/tonight. Missed the good food at the mess hall too, for a good cause however. Lucky Charms and then some instant oatmeal took the place of turkey and mashed potatoes this year! At least my pants still button this year!

So, what are we all thankful for?

I am thankful to have a great family, and not just today, but every day. I have a wife who handles everything for me when Im gone for a year at a time, every other year and hasnt killed me yet! A teenage son who does his best to help out whenever he can and is just an all around great young man. A teenage daughter who looks and acts just like her mother (thats a very good thing) and always finds a way to impress me. And a little fella who keeps everyone smiling all the time with his sillyness. Im so proud of my wife and all of my kids and I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I hope every one of you has a great Thanksgiving and dont forget to tell the people you love how much they mean to you. If nothing else, Thanksgiving is a great excuse to do just that.

Now, just to keep this "on topic" for this forum, post a picture of those people who are right there with you when you are flying, building or crashing your plane!

Ya'll take care!

Thanks Laine, for your service and sacrifice. I would post a picture, but the room is a little dark to take one. It is -2 F where I am at, but thankful to be in the U.S. I live in part of the USAF Nevada test range, and I am glad to be an American everytime a F-18, 15, 16, a-10, etc does a flyby.

I'm thankful for the people like you fighting to protect our country

I've been to the Jones Beach Airshow and had a chance to see the Blue Angels, A-10, F-22, Black Hawk, C-130, P-51, etc. Gotta love 'em. Makes me proud to be an American.

I went through that a few times. Now it's as if it never was that way. But at the time it can be a sad day. Your holidays at home will be so much better.

I wish everyone in the U.S a very happy Thanksgiving from Switzerland.

I know that may not be that appropriate since I am not an American, sometimes though I feel like one. I would fight with you guys side by side against our Enemies at anytime.

Could not resist to say this.

Keep yourselfs alive Americans in your own Country!!

I was dissapointed when I was in Miami and Miami Beach as of how few Americans were there, like if there was an Invasion of Latinos! It did not look like this in 2003!

If you are standing on the Alps wishing to be in America, you better go pour some water on your head, it may help.
