PMR Walkie Talkie or cheap UHF module for long range control?
I've seen a few hints that some people may have sucessfully used PMR-446 cheapo walkie talkies to control models.
As far as I can tell it involves taking PPM from your trainer port and injecting to the walkie talkie, then injecting it back from the receiving walkie talkie into the PPM input in your std receiver. Anyone in the know on this, is it feasible? Using the "scan" option on many receivers would also allow you to crudely hop frequency if you required... |

I've been reading that thread, but it's difficult to distill the nunchuck and control discussions into what can be done, it looks like he is selling custom chips on the decode side... And i'm not sure if he's sending nunchuck PPM or RC standard PPM
Also what about tiny UHF modules like these? http://www.radiometrix.com/content/tx3h (TX) http://www.radiometrix.com/content/rx3g-0 (RX) Could PPM be pushed straight into the data tx terminal, or is this designed for serial type comms... James |
