I dont mean to answer for him or put words in his mouth, but Fu has already said he wont earlier in the thread. The idea is that your 1.2/900 groundstation will send the video through a 2.4 or 5.8 repeater and your goggles with receive that signal. You will be wireless still, and the groundstation can be anything you want

I just received the goggles from the mail man. They had finger prints all over them, even on the lenses.. I tried powering them on through the trainer port from my Futaba 10C but no success. After some cutting, ironing and re-soldering the connector, the glasses can be turned on but jiggling the plug cuts the power again. I can't thrust the glasses and they are therefore useless when powered from my Futaba.

Fu, I think it would be good for your business if you would send out new cables with new, better plugs for free to the needed ones.

I agree with you on that statement..... I tried everything and
its still a "loose" connection between the Foxtech connector and
the Futaba trainer Port plug socket.....

I need new connectors!

Fu, GlassFox please help us :-)

Got mine today. I have to say so far I am liking them. My connector seems very solid. I can wiggle and pull, and it keeps a good connection. The picture is good, FOV is apparently better and wider than my trimersions. So maybe quality control is the issue. They receive my lawmate signal real nice from my 2.5 tx.

I can do a more detailed review later.

Derek,

Be careful with the lawmate there is only 3 or 4 channels Exatly the same, the 7 is the best in my opinion... I didn't told you that...

Well, a little more playing with these and I am liking them. They have only been on the bench, so that is far as I have tested. First let me say I got the black version, and have a futaba 9c and home-made pan tilt.

Pros so far:
1. Easy setup. Doesnt need lots of wires, and if you relay your GS signal or direct receive 5.8 or 2.4, it is great. It also includes proper cables for powering with a battery or AV in.
2. Simple menus. I found them surprisingly intuitive. No learning curve, counting lights, beeps, or whatever. EASY.
3. Compact. Beats Trimersions hands down.
4. Overall quality is nice. Not cheap looking, just somewhat plain, which I like.
5. Headtracker works well. Now this is a jewel. I have a DT3k which I just got and it works perfect, except it must face N or S. THis does not. Best I can tell, when it installizes, it 'remembers' the compass direction you are facing. Then, as you move your head, it follows. At a pause, it tries to calculate any error in the preceeding movement, and corrects it. It DOES NOT re-center to dead center (as already said and demonstrated). It centers to it's best approximation of where your head is currently facing. It does a pretty good job from what I can tell. If all else fails, it has a manual re-center as well.

Cons
1. Rubber is not really comfortable. Foam would be nice.
2. Strap is not great. Velcro style would be 100x better.
3. Color separation in some cases. This is an odd one, as it seems to mostly happen when looking at a black object. I can see a separation of blue and red on either side of a white OSD display object. This is not apparently a camera problem, as the menues of the goggles also have this. It seems to be a refraction/lense issue since I can move the goggles around my eyes and it disappears and varies at times. It is not too bad from what I can tell when looking at normally lit objects, just BLACk ones I think. I will have to test outdoors to verify.

Fu, GlassFox,

can you give me a Link where I can purchase new connectors?
Mine has been iron pressed, cut and modified too just like
you mentioned, and it still is a Loose connection.....

my goggles keeps powering OFF automatically with a slight touch
of the connector and the futaba trainer port socket.

it must be a batch problem or Quality control issue
on those connectors only.

I don't trust mine to use for FPV....

They should take care of this for you. You shouldn't have to purchase anything extra to get them working ok. Well, that's my opinion anyways.

I need new connectors....

I just spent $450.00+ and I wont/cant' use these FoxTech Goggles
until I get the proper working 100% trust worthy connectors.

I cannot risk losing a plane worth over $1000.00

can anyone give me a LINK to buy new OEM connectors?
I cannot find a LINK anywhere.....

I tried contacting Fu/ GlassFox, but I didn't get an answer.
I'm sure this is just bad Luck batch for me

I flew with mine today. It was a somewhat bad day as I was getting bad interference and it was cold for poor me, but the goggles performed pretty well. I was happy!
