They have lasted on my 59 Slick & 60 Extra 300 but the Edge requires a little more travel to get a full 45 degrees & it seems to be taking its toll on the servos, they are not maxed out but close. The elevator & rudder servos have been fine.Im wondering if the 5245's will work out better?

Well I would use anything other than the Hitec 5245 lol. At this point I would use the Futaba S9070SB, the ATX 94820 (a little slower but center very well) or the Savox that Tom and Aeroplayin use. I have used the savox on my 48" with np and I like them in that application. I have not had the ones for the 60" but would be willing to try them.

The 225 and the 5245 are basically the same servo only the 5245 is digital. You will see no diff in travel

Thats what I thought,IMO the 255's center well & are fast enough. If they were more durable they would be perfect.

The new 7245 HV servo has been working really well. It has a much more robust case and drive train than the 5245, but it is also a bit more expensive.

Wow,those Futabas aint cheap, the Savox are 62.99,not bad I guess. If I switch to the Savox I would swap them out of my 60 Extra too.

Ya but the Futaba would be good for other applications in the future as well. Also no chance for blow back on the Futaba or on the ATX as they both have 90oz of torque @6v

Good point, the 225 will blow back at full throttle high speed 4 & 8 point rolls, not much but it does roll a bit slower than at 2/3 throttle.

If price is your issue then you might try the Savox or the ATX. I have a set of the ATX right now and they are good servos just a little slow but perform well.

Id rather pay extra for a better servo, price is always an issue but 30.00 extra per servo for better performance I can live with.

I have seen enough amazing things from the 60 inch EXPs on HV servos to seriously consider them, specifically the JR 3711. The Hitec 7245 seem to match up well to the JR 3711 specs on paper as far as HV alternatives and are $20 cheaper -- Tower discount will make them even less expensive -- for those that still have a place in their heart for Hitec.
