Just one more..... Just one...

My belly landing servo protectors! Happy Easter~!

he he, too windy to fly so I figured I'd do some of the Mod's that many of you have done before my maiden flight

I'll most likely be doing belly landings for the most part into taller grass.

Here is what I came up with for a cover, not sure how it will affect flight but maybe I'll get a chance to find out soon.

Thank you to the Easter Bunny for the idea

Must not buy more planes!

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to flying it. It seems to be a really well put together model. I'm impressed with the quality so far.

Reading through this thread, I see no notes of proper CG, so I'm guessing that it's actually where the manual says it is? (3" from the LE?)

HEY mclarkson I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this plane as I have. I have 30 flights on mine. Its my favorite plane to fly at the park when it a little windy. If you are using a 11.1volt 1300 to 2200 lipo I would position he battery towards the back of the battery tray. I have notice a lot of people or modifying this plane from changing the motor to reinforcing the landing gear, I did add 4 small pieces of ply to the landing gear mounts for extra reinforcement, other than that I have been flying mine stock for the past three months, and it is a durable fun flying little plane. I hand launch it with the landing gear on so I won't damage the bottom of the fuse. the plane comes to a nice landing with the landing gear on in grass with no problem. if you have pavement great.

hay wileyrc you must have the deluxe ver.

i drop mine on the floor from 2 or 3 feet and the shaft on motor snap off
the shaft was tempered too hard
had replaced the motor even before i maiden it

then my motor mount broke off real easy in a miner crash
it was not glued as good as it should have been

mine dont land well in the grass
wheels dig in and the plane noses over hard

i did reinforce the gear to the wing but the wire bends easy
metal is too soft not tempered right
ended up breaking them off to belly land anyway

dont get me wrong i love this plane and flys real nice and worth the money

but just like all the other planes i got they all have some little problems
to fix before and after you fly
and the forums are a great place to find out
what they might be

Perhaps they have made some revisions.

I'm not a muscle man, but when bending the LG forward a bit it was NOT an easy affair.

just wanted to throw that out there, gonna set the CG and throws in a bit and if the wind permits try to maiden it!

I'm planning on leaving the gear off; I fly out of a big grassy field.

I finally got the retracts finished.

There is a carbon spar under the wheel well preventing the wheels to go fully into the wing.

Hey bhcnomo I have been following your thread for a while now. It does seem that you and me bought two different planes. I guess I have been lucky for the past three months. I have been flying my P-51 for around three months with no real mishaps. I did bend my landing gear forward a bit to help the plane not to nose over when landing on the grass, but that all I have had to do so far. Does the E-flite motor give the plane more power or is it about the same.

never got the change to fly with the stock motor
because i broke the motor shaft
when i was looking for a replacement motor i could not find any info about
the stock motor
so i searched around and looked at other makes of the p-51 that where the same size to see what they were using
and what i find was the P-51D Mustang BL BNF from ParkZone
it comes with a Park 480 Brushless 910Kv
so i got one put it in and it worked out real good
