Q- My msr will go into a tail spin to the right for no reason, why?
A- There are a few reasons this could happen. Sometimes the motor connections @ the 5n1 board become loose, check and make sure they are firmly plugged in and not bent. If that doesn't solve the problem the main motor might need to be replaced. You can diagnose the motor by taking the canopy off and removing motor from frame. Next unplug the tail motor and hold the main motor, the pinion should turn freely by hand, next run it full throttle and listen for noises and feel for heat build up. If it gets hot and or is noisy then it needs to be replaced, sometimes a motor won't show any signs of damage but might need to be replaced.
Q- My msr will go into a tail spin to the left for no reason, why?
A- First check the motor connections @ the 5n1 and make sure they are firmly plugged in and not bent. Next check the tail rotor and make sure it's not bent. If you crashed and developed this problem, the tail motor will get damaged very quickly if the shaft takes any impact from a crash, it will destroy the brushes and needs to be replaced. An easy way to prevent this from happening is to push the tail rotor all the way down on the shaft to prevent it from damaging the brushes on impact. If the tail cap popped off, chances are you will need to replace the tail motor.
Q- My msr drifts forward and to the left or right and can't be trimmed out
A- Usually there are 3 reasons why this happens, first check the swash and make sure the swash guide pin is between the guides on the frame, next check the swash and see if it has came undone, you use the red calibration tool to check and repair the swash without taking it apart. If that still didn't solve the problem check the main shaft and make sure there is no play up and down, usually you can hold the msr in your hand and when you hit the throttle watch the white main gear and see if it moves up or down, if so you need to push that main gear up on the shaft until it doesn't move up and down but not so tight that it puts friction on the shaft.
Q- My msr wants to do nose dive if I hold forward cyclic for too much or too long, is this normal? Any ways of preventing this?
A- This is normal and will happen more on high rates, AKA the death dive! You can prevent this by using less forward cyclic and or getting the microheli flybar. Q- My msr started making some weird buzzing sound, what is it?
A- Most likely the tail rotor is bent. If the strange noise is coming from the servo it might be a bent or broken tooth on the servo gear.
Q- One of my servos is stuck and or barely moves, why?
A- Either a piece of dirt or a bent or broken tooth on the servo gear is binding up. Inspect by turning the servo gear with fingers and see where the gear gets caught. This could also be caused by dirt on the resistive track. To check for this remove the servos, if you see any dirt or smudges, remove it with a mild detergent.
Q- My msr goes around in a circle like it's hovering in a toilet bowl, why?
A- There are a few things that can cause this problem, could be bent blade grips, check and make sure the blades track good. Next check the flybar for any bends or a worn out center hole. Next check and make sure the flybar pivots freely with no resistance, if there is any resistance at all it will not fly correct. Next check the blades and make sure they are floppy in the blade grips, if the blades are too tight then you will have a problem. Next check the brass washers and o-rings in the head around the feathering shaft, there should be one o-ring in each side of the head and one brass washer on each side, the blade grips should teeter freely on the main hub and feathering shaft. If that still doesn't fix the problem you might want see if there is any play in the main hub and main shaft, you can do this by gently twisting the main gear while holding the main hub and check for any play or movement back and forth. The hole in the main shaft sometimes get to big and the main hub will get loose as the screw doesn't firmly hold it anymore, you will need to replace the main shaft if this occurs.
Q- I think my 5n1 is bad, I get glitches and or power cuts out, why?
A- If you get the blue led light that goes out, try wiggling the battery cable with your fingers and see if the light stays on, if it doesn't, you need a new replacement 5n1 battery cable, the connecter goes bad after a while and replacing the cable will fix that problem. If you lose bind or won't bind @ all, then you might have a 5n1 problem, everything else is usually fixable.
Q- My msr feels very slow with my DX6i, is there something wrong?
A- If you fly in ACRO mode make sure the gear/fmode switch is in fmode. If flying in HELI mode check flap/gyro switch. There are low/high rates on these switches that most people are unaware of.
