Well I couldn't get these retracts working right. The mains point awkwardly inward and trying to get them lined up properly was next to impossible. I tried using string on the the nose wheel doors but that just got caught up around the strut. Just can't believe that they can't make a decent set of retracts that work right out of the box. I ripped mine off and she'll be a belly lander. Really dissapointed on this one so far.

Great on the flight!!!!

j3tman,
Thanks j3tman. I was in a hurry when I uploaded this yesterday. Yes, Dan flew this for me & trimmed it out nice. (He maidens all my big planes) Dan & Steve helped me with the repairs last night. I'm now using dental floss for pull-pull nose gear.
I think on landings I'm going to have to come in with more speed given the weight that the RC LANDER fans adds to this jet. I'll try 5 more flights with this setup, if all goes well, I'll keep it as is. If not, I'll go with a lighter fan unit.
Anyway, as I said before, a good time was had by all check my YouTube page for other vids.

I'm sure you can.

Super-duper Airplane flooper
Had four flights on mine today. On the fourth, the right wing left the body. I had no confidence in that joint, but that's my fault I guess. Anyway I had the wings glued on with 5-min epoxy. When I do the repairs tomorrow, i think I will try some type of spar through the body.

She sure is a pussy-cat to land though. This is my second EDF. It makes me look like pro, come in nose-high, touch down on the mains....pretty. Of course the last landing...you know the one where she only had one wing, it wasn't so nice...LOL

Sorry about your plane. I have a CF spar in my wings & I'm still afraid my hornet's going to fall out of the sky do to the lack of a wing.
Nice to know your bird lands well, all will be a breeze in the future.

For those of you with wing issues, are you sanding the paint off first before install? Not to insult anyone as it's probably common practice but with mine the paint came off like soft bubble gum with medium grit sandpaper. Epoxy would peel it right off in flight if left on I imagine.
With another bird the paint was much thinner and not like this. Must be a latex this time round.
Going to take mine up with just epoxy and CA, no spars... it feels ok to me.

I did sand the mating surfaces. To me, it seems as though the foam is almost slippery or slik somehow. Anyhow....5 hours of repair and she'll be flying today (with an 18" CF through-the-body spar) Tally-ho!

Don't forget to trim rudder!

Since wing separation seems to be a frequent problem for this plane, I thought itís appropriate to provide inspiration for handling the situation.
F-15 Landed with ONE WING!!! (4 min 36 sec)

If a real F-15 can land with only one wing, maybe you can too. Remember to light the afterburner first.
