Has anyone tried mounting a camera in the unused canopy / cockpit?

Good day for the F-18. Two perfect flights!

P-51 coulda been better but i didn't crash...on its 4th flight i went to hand launch and immediately after i let go the spinner popped off again. I think i am not getting the grub screw tight enough bc my allen wrench is stripped. I need a new one! Easy fix...i was at level flight and able to dead stick it, no damage to the bird

Not so lucky today boys...Right main gear's WHEEL popped off while taxiing down for take off. I had a little more speed than i though have for a taxi but i was not close to take off speed, slid into the grass and AGAIN ripped the nose gear out...ugh!!!

I am hoping to find time to complete my build. I will be going with your standard 2W20 HET Fan. I was going another route (and still may) of a Cyclone 4100/HET Fan but I had and "unplanned landing" with my F16 and so I had the HET Fan on the bench now. I think this one needs more than just a 2W20, but it will do for now......

For the record, I've used the stocked 6 blade fan on a HET 2w-20 with better results than the HET 4 blade fan! (4s 40c 3000mah Sky Lipo)

Ha! I might have given her a hint or two...

Two great flights on the f18 this afternoon. Great flier! Need to get a few more batteries.

New dubro low bounce wheels on the mains and a suspension strut added to the nose. Taxi test indicates a bit better ground handling. The eflite retract struts were pretty ridgid. Now I need a day to fly it!

My F/A-18 has the E-flite retracts too, and like I said 30 or 40 posts back, I've been very pleased with how this plane has been sticking tight on every landing and never yet bounced on me once (after 21 flights now)....unlike my old Habu, which tended to be pretty bouncy; often unpredictably so (the Habu wheels must have been special "HIGH-bounce" type!). I mounted these wheels on the E-flite retract struts (and a smaller diameter of same type for the nosewheel). They look strikingly like the real thing (link).

I hear ya herk! Best landing jet I've got. Am really happy with the retract changes too. I was using the wheels that came with for the fixed gear and they're kinda rigid I think. These should provide a smoother ride hopefully.

Thanks to Rangerfan I will have my F-18 up and running again soon.
It does indeed almost land it's self unlike some other planes i own.

Maybe i will have to try the eflite switch. I am having troubles with commitment to this plane bc of the gear. I mean ya it can be a hand launch plane but that doesnt do it for me. I just got my new fms 1400mm zero up the other day and since it is competing with the f18 for batteries, it may steal the f18s place in the regular flying time.

Part of me has considered selling this plane but when i look at it, i just cant.
