Thanks.. I think she's ready. I could not hand launch this plane before with a 385g 3300 mAh battery without a light head wind. Now I can fly with this battery and possibly a little bigger one as well. I'll find out tomorrow. Weather is suppose to be great!

Got mine out for a taxi test today. all looks good. it was a little windy and cross wing for my flying spot so i decided not to take her up. i ended up having to trim an area about 2 sqr inches and maybe 2mm thick along the inside, where the wheel goes in on the nose gear when retracts are up. The wheel was hitting the side and jamming the retract there. one of my mains isn't quiet making it all the way up either. far enough be considered up but i hear the motor doing its little cut out thing like its jammed. Can't find what it is hitting though! hopefully i can get her in the air tomorrow with no issue.

Flew three times with 385g 3300 bats today. Hand launching went much easier without the retracts. Very little loss of forward momentum and altitude before she accelerated into orbit . Damn, like you Merlin, I would like a little more flying time. About the time you get comfortable its time to land.

Xfatdannx, hope you find the issues with your retracts

I flew mine twice today. I did not know I could do 4 point rolls. Can't with my other planes!
Still lands like a trainer!

I covered the holes in the wheel wells that were exposed as a result of removing my landing gear. I used pieces of epo foam cut out similar to a wine cork. The results were positive. I saw an improvment with the launch and the sound coming from the plane as it flew by was sweeter.

Than I will tape mine over and see if it affects ROG performance. If there is an improvement or no loss I will plug them up as well.

Three more flights on the F-18 this pm. Whoohoo! It shouldn't be this much fun. I maidended a 63" clipped wing cub today and flew my 25 year old GP P-51. What a day! I think I'm going to retire the P-51. Things are getting soft and brittle and no replacement parts. As I inherited it from my dad I don't want to lose it. I need to sell some of my foamy prop planes to make room for more jets!

Oh..on my last flight with the F-18 it coughed up a spec of some black plastic. $%&@, I guess I'm going to tear it down and do an inspection. I'm soooo tired of taking off that plastic shield and glueing it back on. Anyone have better ideas to secure the plastic shield around the ESC and wires?

Use contact foam adhesive like foam tac or uhu por. Or rubber cement. Something that doesn't get brittle over time.

The plastic that fell from the exhausts was pieces from my fan shroud where it failed. The screw mounts broke. LOL I guess I'm off to China to buy something new. I'll check sources here in the good ole' USA. Seems like a lot of vendors have upgrades. Does anyone know the kv of the stock motor?
Thanks
