If your gonna belly land her, I would ditch the retracts. Save allot of weight. Good luck on your maiden, and video if you can.

Yes! Trash it and use a push rod right from the servo and you will be a happy man!
It is so much more positive!

There is a bit of reworking involved. It will only be worth it if you stay with the retracts.

Going to maiden mine tomorrow. Anyone got an opinion on the best CG or do I use what's in the manual? I still can't get the main gear out. I'll perform surgery after the maiden.
Thanks

I'll have to check it out bc i would prefer to stick with the retracts. I think it just adds to the look.

i play guitar and have guitar strings...what do you guys think about dropping a little epoxy on there to hold that? Its gonna be thicker than the provided cable and have less slop. just an idea.

What ever it takes to get the slop out or the plane will wander all over the place on the T/O roll.

im trying the guitar string idea. I am making a small loop through the horn hole and since the string is too thick to tie, i am using a tiny bead of epoxy to hold it shut. My dad said i could use solder for it but i already started and in the end, its the same idea. I will take a pic when its done.

update:

Seems to be working. a lot less slack here to my hand. I am taking it out for a taxi test in a bit. - **Complete**

i just wanted to take off but its a little windy today. I adjusted travel in the programming to keep from tipping during turns. Works great as long as i am not going fast. I wish i had a wheel brake mechanism. With time we will see. below is a close up of the A-string push rod. (left it full res so you can zoom in and get a closer look.)
