Advance 25e by E-flite

So how is this plane going to fly vs. the Pulse XT 25E?

I had one of the .46 glow versions years back. Excellent flyer. I will be interested in the electric version.

Jeez, how many planes has Horizon introduced in the last month? Never ends

This looks like a nice trainer.

Hi,

Don't think trainer. Think very capable sport/aerobatic ship.

I think it could be a competitor for the Great Planes Escapade for that price. Little more wing area, 3" longer, and about 1.5lbs less (and a trike instead of a tail dragger). Should be a good flying plane. Yeah, a cowl would look great.

I have/had many of GP's current line up, including the Escapade. I have found that E-Flight/Hanger 9 has a better average quality than GP, while GP tends to be a little less expensive.

It looks to me like this Advance 25E will be the best of both worlds. I also like the fact that Eflight/Hanger 9 uses Ultracoat. GP uses Monokote.

Wow,

I'm suprised there isn't much more interest in the Advance 25E.

I'm tempted to buy one of these and put a cowl on it .Looks like a good plane to experiment with.

Could this plane be modded to fit a 46 nitro? I have an engine that I can power it.

I suppose you could, but given this is built mainly for electric you'll probably have to do some modifications to beef up the airframe. And at 4lbs a .46 would be overkill.

I don't see much if any advantage over the Escapade. I guess if you want a trike then this is the plane for you. If this plane is built up like the Pulses (read a flimsy fuselage) then I don't think it will be too durable. It will be light which is nice. I think I would still prefer the Escapade as it's built like a tank and is cheap enough.

Hi,

Emillard, you make a good point. I will pick one up when they come out and let you guys know how it compares to the Escapade.

The Advance 25e is not built like the Pulse 25e. It features a foam-core wing and a rugged fuselage, and is optimized more for low cost than low weight. You could probably mount a .32 glow engine up to a compact .40 without any serious reinforcement and get by just fine. Of course it's an E-flite bird, so it's only set-up for electric power systems out of the box.
