North_of_49,

By the time you're done with all the beautification and mods you won't want to fly it...

Next job: Build a shelf for it ;-)

On the subject of elastic for the wing hold down, part of my pre flight check now is to lift the front of the wing a tad and peek to see that the Rx has fully bound.
Been caught out too many times now not to.
Couldn't do that with a rigidly fixed wing.

Its like a metrosexual superCub. Spends more time getting dressed up and pretty than it does flying.

Ahaha!!! Keep up the hard work North.

Im not familiar with that RX you linked either.

I wanted the thicker stuff for the windshield so it would hold its shape without kinking when bent around things.

On another note, I'm just about to pay for an order at headsuprc so he can ship it right away... am thinking of throwing in this dsm2 receiver I asked about a little while ago and got no reply. Was wondering if anyone has used it. I'm going to go look at a google map of my flying area and see how far 1500 ft is

EDIT: what's the range on the stock receiver?

Think you'll ever fly this thing?

I'm no fan of the electronics HZ puts in, never was. I'd go with a RX upgrade, either that one or a HK orange with a satellite .

You can try whatever you want but I agree with Gene on this one.

Doesn't matter, for 11 bucks I bought it and it has already priority shipped to my sister who's in Florida right now... she'll bring home my orders next week

Yeah I wanted to know specifically about that one because I was already doing an order there and it wouldn't cost any extra for shipping to add it. Done deal

Man, you gotta see the LED controller I'm getting from DIY RC. Programmable PIC micro-controller chip that you use a nice little graphical interface on your computer to program your strobe patterns on a timeline just by putting little ticks where you want your events... then dump to the chip via a usb cable and throw it in your plane. You can re-program it as many times as you want and the GUI shows you a simulation of your patterns. Tom is customizing one for me and sending it out in the morning to Florida... will have that next week too when my sister returns home to Edmonton

I just saw a Cymbalta commercial that showed a good clip of a guy flying a Super Cub. Pretty cool.

Question for a buddy looking at getting a 27mhz SC: Are the servos able to be used with a 2.4g radio, like Spektrum? Or would you have to replace the servos if you swap the rx?

Thx!

The original 27 MHz HZ Supercub used a 5 wire servo part no PKZ1070.
The 2.4 g RTF/BNF uses a 3 wire servo part no PKZ 1060.

The servos will have to be replaced.

They just posted a review of the lemon receiver on Flitetest, and it looks good.

Cool, thanks for the kink. Are you saying the Power Up receiver I just purchased from headsuprc is the lemon-rx receiver?
