Now you have my interest

Stock only? Modded to a certain point? A date has to be set for all to compete. Have to take weather into consideration. How does June sound smitty?

The charger with your plane is designed to do a job and it does it. It's not flash, and its not particularly quick but it works.

With the exception of ACT (disconnect at all costs), your plane is designed to fly and it does. Well enough to learn the basics of 3 ch RC flight.

Trust me, keep it simple, learn the basics and this will become an all consuming hobby. See my blog entry 'Addiction'

Then you can progress, but you must learn to walk first.

As for Lipo life, I use a timer. On a stock Cub using stock 1300 lipo I fly for 8 minutes of steady flight at half to three quarter throttle with a couple of take off and landings. Generally I have around 43% capacity remaining. (Checked with a watt meter) Plenty for long cell life. Let the battery cool for at least 15 mins before recharging to allow all internal activity to settle.

Enjoy your Cub, it's an excellent simple plane that can be modded until your hearts content once you've mastered the basics.

Happy flying
i was going to ship the cub back to hobby zone tomorrow at my expense. they deduct $7.99 they had to pay for shipping to me. I have to pay around $18 to $19 to ship it back to them. i lose roughly $26 or more to ship the cub back to them.

but, because of your reply seeing i dont really need to spend money for a more advanced charger im going to keep it. i will time my flights for 8 minutes then bring it down. i am going to start building it right now.

p.s. i dont see any blog in your profile, i would love to read your "Addiction" blog

The stock battery is a tight fit when new. It will go. Connect the battery with the plane inverted and install with the label towards you and tuck the battery/ESC cables through the slots at the rear of the battery box.
There are simple mods to this, both in this thread and on You Tube.
Stay with it!

Brady: You may have a different plane than what I have just finished building, and you may not want to "mod" anything yet, but check out the photos in post #10 and 11 of this thread: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1214571

I did mine this way and I can slide a 2200 pack in from the bottom without any issue. There is room for the XT60 connectors in the "box" with the flap closed. I could not be happier. I'm hoping to maiden mine this weekend, and it balances at 2.25" from the LE with a 2200 installed.

Pops I'm not a million miles from you. If this goes ahead what do you think to a meet up and act as each other witnesses? Might be a laugh!

That's a possibility as I have a Holliday villa at St Osyth. (Sounds better than a chalet). I am there some weekends and bank holidays in the better weather.
As for witnesses, if it ain't on video, it did not happen.

Like Chompwat mentioned the box is super tight fit. It wasn't originally designed to fit Lipo batteries. This is a hold over from the Nicad days. Also, the N # on the plane is a scale registration number and has nothing to due with the transmitter.

If these little thing disappoint you then wait til you get other ARF foam planes made by other manufacturers. I venture to say this will look like the best plane you every bought.

I have the same number on my plane. Maybe we're related.

About N registration numbers.

@Brady, 2500GENE has an excellent battery box mod. In fact I just completed it last week. The battery fits pisser...no probs at all. Just click on his user name for this mod and more (thanks again GENE)

Here's a cheap stand that is "very" handy while working on your Cub or loading the battery. I got mine for 10 bucks at my LHS. It's a perfect fit for the SC and it easily breaks down to bring to the field. I'm very happy with it.

It does come with sticky back foam to line the cradle.

Since I gave you that eBay link, HK has brought out something similar in a plastic case with programmable voltages for a buck more...
