my turnigy 2.4ghz x9 v2 with smartieparts board, std turnigy rf9x v2 2.4 module will nolonger bind?
I have had this for a week and has been bench testing fine, bound once and rx sees the tx every time untill..last night i turn system on as per normal and the rx did not show a link with the tx, inserted bind plug and its all good. went out to the heli today to test new mixes and no bind to system again, inserted the bind plug but system will nolonger bind to rx. the ligt just keeps flashing? insert bind plug into bind slot on rx turn on rx hold bind button on back of module turn on tx ............nothing, just a flashing rx led. any ideas |

phantom, my first instinct would be that something has happened to the connection between the actual transmitter body and the snap in module that plugs into the back. Check those spring contacts that hit the metal pads. I think everything would seem normal until you power up plane or heli, you wouldnt notice the module not functioning properly until then.
P. This is a rx that had previously been bound to that tx??? why would it blink unless you bound with a different tx, then went back to original?? Not sure, I'm sure it's something simple though. Check to make sure the main menu settings did not get changed. |

No, it was working fine....turn on tx, turn on rx and a solid led will show through the rx case. worked every time untill now. turn on tx, turn on rx....no rx led |

the module has 5x long male pins coming from the tx housing with a 5pin female receptical on the module. I have never taken this out untill now after the issue started. cheers wheelspinner |

Do you have a second Rx to test and see if this is the rx or the tx giving the problem? I do strongly suspect the rx is at failt, maybe a dry solder joint or something
Just for info, mine only bind if the bind link is in the "bat" slot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would say if not the receiver then like someone said a bad connection to the module. My receivers only blink if it is in bind mode. If I turn one on without the Tx being on I simply get no light. I did have an antenna come off in a receiver one time. That's another thing to check.

Cheers back at ya. P. I re-read my post, and ya it was confusing, I combined two thoughts, sorry. Yes straight pins have been an issue on other types of modules. but i should have typed, after you check the 5 pins and snap fit, take the back off of the radio and see if something has happened to the contact area between the 2 prongs, (its one piece of springy steel shaped like a v.) and the main portion they make contact with. |

Another thought is a question for those more familiar, with new er9x fw, can you still select PCM mode? I ask because I can't remember seeing it. Or can you change a setting in the main menu that would cause the module to send an unrecognized signal to a rx.????

ok...wheelspinner20, I got ya now, was working from the outside looking in. I will open up the radio again and check that contact pad area.
I did the bind/bat swap to no avail..... funny thing, I have never had the module out but when I went to check the pins on the wrong side I noticed the LH side module retainer clip (looking from the back)(sorry s_mack for the use of brackets.lol) was not fully engaged, when I refitted it was quite hard to get it to lock but once in my probs seem solved. Frsky djt module set on its was to me now so will ditch the turnigy v2 one. |

so phantom1500 you tx/rx is now working like it was before? from the above it does look like it or did I misunderstand you when reading "probs seem solved."
Also have you checked both RX and TX that the ant soldering is nice and good (before you fly) |

Got replacement usb board from Steven(s_mack),installed it and it works as expected.
Thank you for standing behind your product and prompt response! I will play with er9x/eepe and see how they work- so far so good- Cheers |
