What does "subscribe to this forum" actually do?

I tried clicking on the button labelled "subscribe to this forum" but I can't see what it does, the search facility is disabled as I write this so could someone explain the significance of this action because all that it is necessary to post comments is to logon.

The forum shows up in "My R/C Groups" Which there is a button on the Blue Bar twords the top of the page. I use it as my opening page instead of the R/C Groups page. That way I can see the forums that I enjoy/moderate instead of all of them.

Don,

That was a quick reply, Thanks.

May be you could answer another couple of queries...

How do you logon as a guest?

Why in some forums do they echo all the proceding comments in every sucessive post?

Andy.

- you can't "log in" as guest. You can browse without logging in, however - you'll just have to log in to post.
- no idea what you mean by this..

Are you referring to the "Newsgroups" forums?
If so, they are not actually a part of RC Groups. We merely provide a gateway to them as a convenience to our users.
I'm not actually sure why that is done - I suspect so the reader can easily link each answer to the question.

Hope that helps!
