Just wondering what is a good CG for this bird? Is CG on manual good? My 2 x 4s 4000mah seem very nose heavy. I might have to cut that former. I hate to do that!

How much is your total weight with the 2X4S 4000mh batt? I'm trying to decide either go with 6S 4000, or 8S 4000 batt. The 8S seems to be 8oz heavier than the 6S...

battery paks


I'm using 9s 3850 and my cg is right at 95mm when the pak is against the nose gear former. It's quite good. however the rclander 9&10s fan is a bit heavier than most (all metal with big motor) and that's why the batteries worked out well. When I go to 10s I'll just slide them back a bit. Jet weighs right at 8-3/4 lbs. stm

I started flying mine at 95mm but have since moved it up to 90mm with the weight of the scale cockpit and it still flies great at that point.

Thats amazing that manual CG is so way off! Thanks now it balances perfectly without cutting up the formers!!!

My AUW is looking to be about 8lbs and 5-6ozs with 2 x4s 4000mah

It's mad windy here in Dallas Texas with wild fires burning all around us. Once I get a chance I'll maiden her. Now it's time to move on to the Habu and a wind rider 737. Tough choices for me I love them both! Which to build first?? LOL I know everyone of us have this problem here in this hobby!

more testing


I just did another watt test on medium timing,
watts were 1789, amps 79, volts 23 looks good to me on the changesun 1900kv
motor combo.
it came in at 6lbs on the nose. auw

Just got 2 flights with the ice100, I had the ice100 lite but it ran real hot. Ice 100 got up to 150 degrees, much better then 200 with the ice lite. I have the Changesun also, downloaded my data. 1860 watts/82 Amps. I am gonna experiment with the timing, that was at 6(custom), boosted it to 7 for the next flight. My batts. are getting old. I am sure with newer batts I would be back up to 2200 watts which was where I was at when I first started flying this set up.

I did the high timing and got 2900 watts @ 139amp. that was to high

Yes that would probably be to much for the motor, when my batts were fresh, I topped out at 2200 watts/89 amps and performance was great!
