If you are talking about the canopy make a tongue in the front and a sliding latch in the back. If you are talking about the hatch at the bottom rear I used small screws and epoxy small pieces of wood inside for some thing to bite to.

Queston on wing fences. I have seen them placed near the end of the wing and I believe I have seen them placed in the middle of the wing. Which area is best and would 2 on each wing be better?

Hi Dave, very nice landing indeed. I am building the BEA Hawk and would like to know how much deflection is 60% flaps (mm movement at the TE), and also the same distance for the reflex you are using. That will give me a good starting point. I will be flying of grass and must bleed off as much speed as possible.
How much throw are you using on your control surfaces? I may have missed the post if you already mentioned this. This tread is just becoming tooo long ;-)

Ok, getting ready to set CG. I've seen a few different numbers here. What is the final consensus and from where do I measure it?

60% is equal to about 9/16 inch (1.4mm) and reflex is about 1/8 inch (3.175 mm)alerion crow.

Aww man!!


My T-45 was delivered today, the box was in a bad condiditon and so is the fus. One of the inner balsa formers is broke, there's a few cracks on the intake covers and worse of all the side of the fus where the intakes are has been crushed and is creased resulting in cracks in the paint. I'm not happy at all

Is there anyway to reshape fiberglass like warming it up? If not I may as well have chucked 150 in the bin Please help!

Thanks for the info Dave. 9/16 inch is 14.29mm actually.
When are you going to go metric? Its so much simpler and easier to calculate with.

Don't bother trying to repair the damaged plane. Instead call their tech dept and send them pictures of the damage. Mine was "modified" by the shipper too. My first set of main wings were broken at the spar, they sent me new ones, second set had the same problem and they finally managed to get a set delivered in 1 piece on try #3. They won't make you ship the fuselage back to them if you email pictures of the damage. It will take longer to get the plane in the air but its worth it in the end...

That stinks Hixxer. Been there, done that. Hope it works out for you. Got my wing fences on and painted. Now I need to build a nest for the 6S battery.

It does stink, I'm totally gutted. The box and packing were woefully inadequate for overseas shipping. I have been onto RCaerodyne and CMP about replacement parts (even paid for ones) hopefully one of them can sort me out
