82,000 Federal Employees paid over 150,000 a year

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...pay10_ST_N.htm

There's even a nice chart in there to show the number of employees making 150,000 in 2005 versuse 2010 ... (

Well ... we could either say ... "Look! Bush was President for the majority of the time and responsible for the increase." Or we could say "Look! That was right when the Democrats took control of Congress and are responsible for the increase."

In the end, it doesn't matter ... growth of Government has gotten to the tipping point.

Oh no, our government is too big and we can't afford the payroll anymore, we are running deficits.

Dem solution...that's okay, we'll spend more money and hire more people, that'll solve the problem!

I'd bet they could eliminate half or more of those "positions" and you'd not be able to tell the difference.

Someone on this forum recently postulated that paying government workers higher wages would stimulate the economy and raise tax receipts, resulting in less deficit. This is the kind of "logic" and "reason" we are fighting against. The fact that it even has to be explained why that makes no sense astounds me.

Wouldn't be so bad, if for a moment there was any evidence they were worth it.

But that's the trend, isn't it? Getting paid 6 or 7 figures just because you can, not because you're worth it. This scenario applies to almost every Fortune-whatever CEO.

The corporation can lose billions. Better yet, apply for government welfare. But the CEO, who actually produces absolutely nothing, gets paid $3M plus that much again bonus.

Umm-hmm. That's the Merikun Way alright. It wasn't when we were prosperous, but it sure the hell is now.

82,000 people making AT LEAST 150,000 a year comes to 12,300,000,000.00

In 2005 "only" 7420 Federal employees were making over 150,000 a year ... which is

1,113,000,000.00

We're talking about an 11 fold increase over the past 5 years ... 1.1 Billion versuse 12.3 Billion a year

There STILL needs to be a CEO for the corporation to operate. And the argument can be forwarded that it might have been worse without that person there. WE just do not know.
