I wish I would have know they were gonna drop the price that far before I ordered mine a week ago. That is a stupid deal for $137 !! I agree it needs better packing, but mine arrived undamaged so I can't gripe.

... I can see why though : plane in stock, but no fan in stock, no retracts in stock, nobody's flown it a whole lot either - yet ...

Still seems like a good deal to me - we'll see who in the next round gets the returned crushed ones

Buy a new one (or two) at this price, then return to damaged one for a refund at the original price. Of course, that's provided they arrive okay.

I guess I was lucky as your just around the corner and it was damaged but mine was fine down here in SD. Makes me wonder if it was damaged before it even made shore.

The Het 9305-700 90mm fan has finally arrived ...


It seems to fit nicely in the T-45, the outer diameter of the fan is ca. 1mm larger than the WeMoTec Midifan, 93.3 mm vs. 92.2 mm.

The large hole pattern in the Het shroud fits the Het 700 motor cooling holes nicely ... the motor still needs to be supported at the back though.

The inner diameter of the plastic shroud is such that a number of different rotors fit, including the Midifan & CS one, and even the heavy Haoye (tightly).

On mine the back opening seems large enough to take motors up to ca. 39.98 mm diameter.

I bought one today too, and I have the same system

You mentioned early who will crash first, I usually break everything, THE f-86 went up in flames when the rotor came off that 90mm fan and sliced my xps 5s 4000 and caused a huge fire that could took down my house. MAKE sure you tighten the living day light out of that rotor so it does not come off!!! I paid 165 shipped. I will stay on this thread to get pointers. I am thinking this set up for it, het 90mm fan with 700-60-1480kv motor on 10s xps 3200mah with castle hv80, your thoughts? Oh and YES I will try to handlaunch if the weight to thrust is more than 1 to 1

The Het 93-05 700 fan is slightly heavier than the MidiFan but quite strong - ready for some major abuse

It is better - or I should say, I prefer - to have the nosegear strut a bit longer than scale ... That way the Hawk will come off the ground more or less by itself.

When you look at the start sequence of my T45 you will see the relative negative angle of attack of the nose - due to the power I have in this Goshawk there is no problem with take off by its own lift . Since you also put a lot of watts in yours the front strut length will be secondary .
For those who put in a power level below a thrust to weight ratio , let`s say of around 0.7, however, it will become vital !

I did a little calculating of the wingloading on mine - she has 150g/dmsquare . According to your measurement being 24 dmsquare correlated to my max. weight you theoretically should still be flying with an AUW of 3600 g / 7.94 lbs

At your projected AUW you should be able to " hand-launch" your T 45

I ordered one ( sale price too good) and read through the tread lot of great info:

To answer the question from back at post #19

the sign is to warn not to paint over the static port's for the instruments
they how ever left the decal for the port off


Question I have the het 90mm 600 with the het 1600 watt motor
do you think on 6s the ducking would be strong enough
or would it need to be reinforced?

I could set it up (duct work ,fan) on the bench and test it
and if it works ok would it then be ok in model?

I wasn't sold by the low price alone. But after looking at the details in this blog I couldn't resist. nitro is sold out so hopefully we'll have some flight reports soon.

I just joined this thread. Thanks for all the great info.

I purchased the T-45 from Nitro Planes. They were having a Black Friday sale ($137 instead of regular $199). It was such a great deal I couldn't resist.

I have a wemotec 90mm fan, ARC 36-65-1 (2080kv) motor, 6S 4700mAH batteries and 120A ESC left over from my crashed F-86 foamie.

From the info on this tread it should be enough for a light set-up??
