Thanks Mike, I don't want to mislead... we're stuck on post here, so there are no children, when I say "kids" I mean the soldiers as they are all my kids age and of that mental state..lol. A bud and I are just trying to set up a way for the un-initiated to have a distraction and an intro to the sport.-Guy

Is there a restriction on what frequency radios can be used over there?

We've been using 2.4 but the radios we have are 72. It's a function of interference not restriction as the mil stuff can be heavy duty.

No, there was limited space on the front of that tray, not sure we could have used those lug nuts to secure it with enough material around it

We did some good today, but ran out of time to get er done

No Jon, we had to go with old trusty CA, the tray is short on one side and no space for drilling a hole, so I guess will be removable "with a dremel"

Hmm, I swore there was plenty to put one bolt in there, but oh well, CA is just fine. Glad SJ was able to help.

Because we have so many new DLGers I was thinking of taking a Saturday and doing a Prep-school and an F3K school, if there is any interest. The weather looks bad for a while so for the new pilots you can read my blog to see what the classes would be like and just read the material. Go to this link and skip the first part "To fix a stripped thread" and scroll down to "F3K Prep School Outline." Also be sure to scroll down to "...Continue Reading" and click on it to see the whole story. There are some ideas in there for exercises you may want to try.

It was meant as an outline. Some of the items need further explanation so if it is not readily apparent what I am saying, ask.

Some items have an mp3 that I play on my droid to fly by. If you want to try some let me know and we will figure out how to get them to you.

You could try putting a wanted ad in the sailplane section of the classifieds. I've seen a couple of P2s go up for sale in the last couple months and a few Blasters as well. It's really a pity that CJ isn't making the Predator anymore. It's a fantastic DLG.

I have a question for all of you experienced pilots..... Is it OK if I keep my rudder and Elevator under tension or do i need to "undo" the pull strings for storage? Im not sure if keeping them under tension will mess the surfaces up.
Thank you

I store mine under tension. If the spring ever gets weak or develops a set, I'll just bend another spring...
