I have found that these 2 servos, while not the same servo, have the exact same parts on the insides, and that the parts are interchangeable. Now there is a change there is some difference that my eyeball does not detect, but they look the same to me....... and they both are not up to use in DLG's in my opinion.

I had Power HD DSM44s in the wings of my first DLG. They centered very well and had great resolution when I bought them, but they developed significant slop after a while. I would never put them in wings again, but I'd like to try them for a pull-spring elevator setup. The Ion 57MG you have pictured is, from what I've read, the same dimensions but with higher quality pots. I've read very mixed reviews for it. The Ion 65 is slightly larger and has nylon gears, which should make it less likely to have slop and double centering issues.

The search for the perfect DLG servo is a long one.

I really wish someone would make a fast servo like this. Seems it would be perfect for our thin wings.

Brandon you dawg!!! You were killing me with that Predator and now you going Mystic?? Actually I have read a lot about the Mystic so I am anxious to see it. Hopefully you will have it done by the next contest.

I have a 1s nano-thech you can have for it; either a 650 or a 900 mah.

You do realize that I'm the designer of the Mystic, right? And that I've had one in my quiver since BSOUT last year? I only didn't bring it to the last contest because I couldn't fit it into my sporttube (horizontal tail is glued on ). My hope is to have this one ready for the next contest. I appreciate the offer for the battery, but I already have a 1s nano-tech 750 mAh for it. I'm just trying to pick out some servos now. I wish I had the funds for some MKS DS65Ks.

Yeah, I think he did. I'm sure we'll see more of him. I'm also in the process of fixing David P's Stobel V2 fuse, and he's excited to join in our next contest as well.

So who all is going to the JEM in Perris CA on the 19th - 20th? And do we still want to have a January monthly the following weekend on the 26th?

I doubt I could do a January local. But if we have people who want to fly, we ought to find a place to give people the chance.

I'm planning on going to the JEM, but to be honest, I have not yet got the boss's OK. I'd be up for a Jan 26th contest too.

I'm ok if you go Finch. Looks like you are good to go now!

And yes, barring a volcano, I will be at the JEM.

I will not be at JEM and would love to have a monthly. I'll need to get the ok from the wife first, but I think I can make it on the 26th.
