Two D80s and a Wizard DSX. All relatively minor dings. One D80 & Wizard landed on rocks that punched holes in the bottom wing skin. Another D80 skipped off a rock & slightly cracked the fuse.

It goes to show a big difference between DS & DLG. I was really bummed about hitting the power lines & doing minor damage to the Stobel. When the Wizard - which cost about 4x a Stobel - got smacked down by a rotor, I looked it over, found trashed servo and a hole in the wing, and thought to myself, "well, that wasn't too bad."

Yeah, a little extra carbon weight in the Wizard's wing won't hurt it all. Grams seem to matter in dlg.

So I show up @ my girlfriends house a few minutes late and see my 2 buddies throwing crap around and gettin high. Soo...... like any good person, I join in! Wind made staying in lift tough, but when you stayed in it long enough to get over 200' it was OVER!!!!! Crazy powerful lift!

Good times. I am starting all over again in DLG with the basics. My launch had deteriated steadily and my flying was getting faster and faster! Will see if the new ways are better over time, but for now, its helping.

Tell you what, had I seen that ready-to-fly Stobel a few minutes earlier for $600 at the meet, I'd have had to call home and tell my wife some bad news. Andrew J just beat me to it. I hate building, and that was less than half the price of building one, right? Crazy!

I need another excuse to get outside and enjoy the fresh air of Utah.

I took the the teenage boys from our church to do some RC flying last night. Funniest thing, I had all these planes out, we were showing off, and the one they liked the best was that little Alula. They loved taking turns chucking it as high as they could. Something about the physicality of it that can't be beat.

So when the yellow bird man says he's spent more in DLG than everything else combined, I'm assuming that's a result of crashes, right? Not getting the plane back to the field successfully is a common occurrence then?

Finch spends more on everything he does than anybody else. Dont use him as a baseline FOR ANYTHING!

Haha, I NEED a higher baseline. How am I gonna justify spending as much money as I want to if I don't have other guys like Finch to point at and say "See, I'm not spending nearly as much as that guy!"
